Huden Eagles fielded a 3-5-2 lineup. For Grilled Birds, the formation of choice was 2-5-3. Grilled mostly ignored the flanks in favour of their ability to attack in the middle, taking advantage of their divine (+4) level with that tactic. This was a good period for the visitors, with several opportunities to take the lead, particularly when Cyril Künzler slipped through the defence on the right to come up alone against Gunnar Rönn, but the home side's keeper showed his lightning reflexes. 9 minutes into the match, Grilled nearly took the lead, as Neeraj Muthyala broke through on the right. Gunnar Rönn made the save, however. After 39 minutes, Timmy Moore came in from the right, feinted, then sped past the off-balance defender to make the score 1 - 0, giving Eagles the lead. After 40 minutes, the visitors levelled the scores after Chan Ze Han made it through the middle and struck home to make it 1 - 1. The teams went for the halftime break at 1 - 1. Grilled enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 58 percent of possession.

After 54 minutes, Grilled's Neeraj Muthyala made his way through the middle and nonchalantly placed the ball out of the keeper's reach, putting the visitors up 1 - 2. 60 minutes into the game, Nrurl Motahaar came close to levelling the score with a dangerous shot from the centre of the area that went just over the bar. 63 minutes into the match, Grilled's Florus Romijn demonstrated his famed speed as he raced past his marker and passed the ball to Cyril Künzler who chipped it in for 1 - 3. The home side worked hard to get through the middle and as a result, had a good chance of getting one back as Erasmo Romero tried lifting the ball over keeper Massoud Dob. Unfortunately, the ball went just over the bar. 70 minutes into the match, the referee signalled for a Grilled substitution. Chu Xin Lee came on for Kalki Parvathaneni. The referee showed Grilled's Neeraj Muthyala the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. 71 minutes in, Eagles's Eugenio Ramírez received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. It was announced by the referee that he estimated stoppage time to be around 1 minute. This meant there could still be an extra attack or two left in the match! The match ends 1 - 3. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Grilled, with 58 percent of the ball.

Eagles's best player was Shavleg Giashvili. Eugenio Ramírez turned in a dismal performance, however. Chu Xin Lee performed admirably for Grilled. Gilbert Webb was a disappointment, however.
