Clear skies welcomed the spectators who had made their way to the stadium today. The following players had been chosen: Geerts - Schlosser, Lampert - De Cicco, Bokbom, Foderà, Partigianoni, Paskar - Perosa, Edel, Bigger.

Both teams came out with a similar approach to the match, having chosen to start with a 2-5-3 formation. Grilled clearly preferred using their divine (+5) ability to attack in the middle. Grilled took the lead after 3 minutes making the score 0 - 1. Chan Ze Han placed the ball out of reach for the home side's keeper after a fine move, coming in from the left. The crowd was on its feet 19 minutes into the match, as Lioner's Xeno Bigger found himself unmarked in front of the goal after a dash up the left side. He calmly put away the 1 - 1 equaliser. After 20 minutes, Grilled's Vikram Mudaliar made his way through the middle and nonchalantly placed the ball out of the keeper's reach, putting the visitors up 1 - 2. Grilled had a good opportunity to attack on the wing, but remembered their instructions to go for middle attacks. The visitors' Chan Ze Han took advantage of a misunderstanding between the home side's goalie and centre backs 21 minutes into the match. 1 - 3 for Grilled. At 21 minutes into the game, Lioner's Claudio Foderà deftly knocked the ball home after an impressive run down the left, reducing the visitors' lead to 2 - 3. Central attacks were the recipe of the day for Grilled, as they moved the ball from the wings to the middle with startling regularity. After 24 minutes, an incisive pass through the middle gave Florus Romijn a chance to increase the lead for Grilled, and he did not disappoint. The score was then 2 - 4. 2 - 4 was the halftime score. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Grilled, with 57 percent of the ball.

Florus Romijn could have put his team up another goal 51 minutes into the game, after a rush down the left, but his closing shot hit the post. Chan Ze Han came close to extending the visitors' lead when he found himself completely unmarked in front of the goal after a pass through the middle. He tried to lift the ball over Cyril Geerts but overcooked it and hit the bar instead. 60 minutes into the game, Grilled wanted to bring some new energy to their game. Neeraj Muthyala gave Islom Davlatov a quick hug as he left the field. After 65 minutes, the Lioner coach wanted to see a new face on the pitch, waving Jens Bokbom off the field. Riccardo Ruto took his place. 65 minutes in, Grilled's Kalki Parvathaneni received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. With the scoreboard showing that 67 minutes had been played, Grilled nearly put themselves up another goal after Vikram Mudaliar came through on the left. Fortunately for the home crowd, the keeper made the save. Silverio Partigianoni would have preferred to play on, but his coach decided otherwise. Mattia Lancia entered the game for Lioner as the match clock showed 70 minutes. Silverio Partigianoni was coming off, and had placed his last free kick for the day. That meant that Xeno Bigger got the chance to showcase his dead ball skills. Under heavy pressure after 71 minutes, the inexperienced Grilled struggled to maintain their level of play. Lioner's fans were urging them forward as they tried to get back into the game, and their vocal support was rewarded 72 minutes into the match as Berend Edel ran onto a beautiful ball played through the visitors' defence and slotted it past the keeper to reduce the deficit. 3 - 4. As the 89 minute mark approached, the Grilled coach decided it was time for a substitution. Florus Romijn reluctantly made way for Prokop Mottl on the pitch. The players were tired, but when the referee announced that there would be 2 minutes of added time they, nonetheless, welcomed the extra opportunity to make an impact. The match ends 3 - 4. Possession in this half belonged to Grilled, who controlled the ball 56 percent of the time.

Cyril Geerts performed admirably for Lioner. Mattia Lancia turned in a dismal performance, however. The most dominating Grilled player was without a doubt Chan Ze Han. However, Prokop Mottl made a disastrous appearance.
