Arcturules 2 - 5 Grilled Birds

iv id="matchReport"> 25245 spectators arrived at Olympic Lyons Park, where weather conditions were pretty good for football. Adrián Villar was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Vasko Slavov and Grigoraş Vasiloiu. The match took place on neutral ground. Starters: Tang - Chang Ming, Chee Chi, Pham, 综轩 (Zongxuan) - Arpiainen, Al-Hussaini, Foo, Iyer, Schaden - Gojković.

Lineup: Dob - Webb, Panigrahi - Künzler, Davlatov, Xin Seng, Muthyala, Romijn - Egan, Ze Han, Parvathaneni.

Arcturules started the game in a 4-5-1 formation, whereas Grilled Birds lined up in a 2-5-3 formation. Arcturules were relying on their supernatural ability to counter-attack. Grilled used their divine (+3) ability to concentrate their attacks in the middle of the pitch, rather than on the wings. 10 minutes of the match played, and a comedy of errors by the home side gave the visitors a chance at the lead, but Islom Davlatov, after finding himself dashing down on goal from the left with only the keeper to beat, sliced his shot horribly wide. The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave Bhavya Panigrahi" class="awayplayer">Bhavya Panigrahi from Grilled a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 22 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! The visiting Islom Davlatov was booed thoroughly by the home crowd 32 minutes into the game, after he broke through the middle and scored, resulting in the visitors taking the lead. 0 - 1 was the score. 33 minutes into the game, Arcturules had difficulty finding their positions and their organisation dropped to weak. After 35 minutes, Grilled's Kalki Parvathaneni" class="awayplayer">Kalki Parvathaneni burst through the central defence and let loose a cannonball of a shot, scoring for 0 - 2. After 41 minutes, an incisive pass through the middle gave Chan Ze Han" class="awayplayer">Chan Ze Han a chance to increase the lead for Grilled, and he did not disappoint. The score was then 0 - 3. 0 - 3 was the score after the first half. Grilled claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 58 percent.

The coach gave his players an extra tactical briefing during the break, and after that Arcturules had solid organisation. The home crowd were delighted when Cheah Chang Ming scored with a header after an attack from the right, making the score 1 - 3. But did he use his hand? That'll be one for the pundits to talk about after the game, that's for sure! A well placed corner kick from Loo Chee Chi was followed by Pierre Foo's hard but accurate header. The well executed routine resulted in a goal for Arcturules, the score now 2 - 3. Chan Ze Han" class="awayplayer">Chan Ze Han came close to extending the visitors' lead when he found himself completely unmarked in front of the goal after a pass through the middle. He tried to lift the ball over Victor Tang but overcooked it and hit the bar instead. Bernie Egan wanted to play on, but the Grilled coach had other ideas, and he was replaced 80 minutes into the game by Vikram Mudaliar" class="awayplayer">Vikram Mudaliar. Grilled's Florus Romijn got himself booked for a foul. Grilled increased the lead to 2 - 4 as Bhavya Panigrahi" class="awayplayer">Bhavya Panigrahi scored from the penalty spot, putting the ball in near the top left corner. Arcturules's Abdulrab Al-Hussaini was shown a yellow card after 87 minutes for slicing down an opponent. After 88 minutes, Cheah Chang Ming suffered a slight injury to his right calf muscle. However, it was not enough to stop him from continuing the game. Gilbert Webb" class="awayplayer">Gilbert Webb received a delicate pass through the home side's central defence after 88 minutes, and chipped it past the flailing keeper to score making it 2 - 5. The Grilled fans went wild, whilst the home fans started to think about leaving early. 88 minutes in, Arcturules's Iisakki Arpiainen received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. Grilled's Neeraj Muthyala left the field after 89 minutes having twisted his hand in a collision, causing a slight injury. Chu Xin Lee" class="awayplayer">Chu Xin Lee tried to hide a smile as he entered the field. He had not expected to get a chance this day. The referee decided to let play continue for an additional 4 minutes beyond the regular 90 minutes. The match ends 2 - 5. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Grilled, with 57 percent of the ball.

Matija Gojković performed admirably for Arcturules. On the other hand, Pierre Foo's play was disheartening. The most dominating Grilled player was without a doubt Kalki Parvathaneni" class="awayplayer">Kalki Parvathaneni. Bhavya Panigrahi" class="awayplayer">Bhavya Panigrahi turned in a dismal performance, however.
