Grilled 5 - 1 Payoh

iv id="matchReport"> 77171 spectators had come to The Cooking Pot this cloudy day. Cezary Szczyrbowski was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Gunnar Floegel and Dean Bosworth. The following players had been chosen: Dob - Mohammad Harun, 中北 (Nakakita) - Künzler, Davlatov, Xin Lee, Muthyala, Romijn - Mudaliar, Ze Han, Parvathaneni.

Starters: Stanoiev - Abbeloos, 修賢 (Xiuxian), Morgado, Pukl - McCandless, bin Hj Erywan, Riihiniemi, Usik - Lim, Tong Leong.

Grilled Birds fielded a 2-5-3 lineup. For Mia San Toa Payoh, the formation of choice was 4-4-2. Using their counter-attacking abilities was the strategy of choice for Payoh on this day, taking advantage of their magical level with that tactic. Azrinuddin bin Hj Erywan stayed close to Islom Davlatov, trying to obstruct his game - and the gambit is paid off forPayoh. Grilled were very close to putting themselves one up after 14 minutes as Kalki Parvathaneni" class="homeplayer">Kalki Parvathaneni got through on the left. However, his concentration failed him, and he shot wide. Payoh's counterattack was impressive and was only stopped by a shocking foul. Somehow, the referee's cards remained in his pocket - a terrible decision! Oleg Usik's resulting free kick was easily saved by the keeper. A corner kick created great disorder in the penalty area with a goal nearly scored by Bilal Mohammad Harun" class="homeplayer">Bilal Mohammad Harun. At last, Grilled's Chan Ze Han" class="homeplayer">Chan Ze Han was able to backheel the ball in. 1 - 0. Grilled solidified their lead at the 34 minute mark, as Neeraj Muthyala dribbled the ball through the opposing central defence and scored to make it 2 - 0. The visitors' right side was dangerous today; Jerry Lim made the home team's keeper look foolish as he easily scored to reduce the lead to 2 - 1 37 minutes into the match. A magnificent combination in the middle resulted in Grilled's Chu Xin Lee" class="homeplayer">Chu Xin Lee increasing the lead to 3 - 1. It was 3 - 1 at the break. Grilled enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 62 percent of possession.

悠太 (Yuta) 中北 (Nakakita) wanted to play on, but the Grilled coach had other ideas, and he was replaced 46 minutes into the game by Gilbert Webb" class="homeplayer">Gilbert Webb. As the captain was no longer on the pitch, Neeraj Muthyala took over the role of being the Grilled captain. Chan Ze Han" class="homeplayer">Chan Ze Han could have put Grilled up one more, but he fired into the side netting after breaking free on the left after 47 minutes. A lovely run by Grilled's Cyril Künzler left his markers for dead and should have resulted in a goal, but the finish went just wide. With 67 minutes played, Grilled's Islom Davlatov almost extended the lead, but his shot from the left glanced off the top of the bar to fall behind the net. Payoh's defence sent a ball soaring up the middle on a beautiful counterattack with 68 minutes gone, but Gevanni Abbeloos's finish was met by the reaching hands of the keeper. The Grilled players could smell victory in the air. Bilal Mohammad Harun" class="homeplayer">Bilal Mohammad Harun wasn't in a hurry to leave the field as he was substituted for Bernie Egan after 85 minutes. It was announced by the referee that he estimated stoppage time to be around 2 minutes. This meant there could still be an extra attack or two left in the match! Cheers filled the stadium as Kalki Parvathaneni" class="homeplayer">Kalki Parvathaneni broke through the visitors' central defence to put away the ball to increase the lead to 4 - 1 to Grilled. Grilled put themselves up 5 - 1 when Bernie Egan broke through on the right, leaving the entire defence trailing in his wake. The match ends 5 - 1. Grilled had most of the ball, with 60 percent of possession.

Kalki Parvathaneni" class="homeplayer">Kalki Parvathaneni performed admirably for Grilled. Bernie Egan was a disappointment, however. Most important Payoh player was Jerry Lim. However, Azrinuddin bin Hj Erywan made a disastrous appearance.
