Grilled 4 - 2 Ropelearner

iv id="matchReport"> It had rained all day, but 68117 hardy fans still made it out to The Cooking Pot. Gerardo Pérez was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Miguel Lopo and Augusto Fusé. While a boggy pitch like this was an advantage for physical players, it really didn't help those who relied on speed or technique. Fans of both teams had been eagerly awaiting this Jurong derby and were doing their best to outshout their opponents. They fielded: Dob - 中北 (Nakakita), Webb - Künzler, Davlatov, Mohammad Harun, Muthyala, Romijn - Mudaliar, Ze Han, Parvathaneni.

Starters: Huamancayo - Gém, Widzyk, D'hoedt, Güner, Dioguardi - Bejczi, Grgeč, Eszik, Marburg - Breuker.

Grilled Birds started the game in a 2-5-3 formation, whereas Ropelearner FC lined up in a 5-4-1 formation. Ropelearner preferred to finish off their attacks from a distance, taking advantage of their divine (+5) level with that tactic. Slack defending gave Grilled a chance to take the lead with 16 minutes played, but Vikram Mudaliar" class="homeplayer">Vikram Mudaliar's cross from the left flank was fumbled in front of the goal and easily dealt with by the opposition. With 17 minutes gone, a long pass from the defence of Ropelearner resulted in a counterattack that set Gábor Gém free through the middle, but the keeper made a spectacular diving save. Some good play on the left wing created an opportunity for the visitors 23 minutes into the match, and Salomon Breuker wasn't about to let it go by. He got past the defenders and fired a shot that the keeper just missed. 0 - 1 for the visitors. After 25 minutes of play, Kalki Parvathaneni" class="homeplayer">Kalki Parvathaneni evened things up for Grilled with an impressive goal coming up the middle. 1 - 1. Massoud Dob looked great 29 minutes into the match after stopping a shot from the middle of the penalty area from the visitors' Gábor Gém. Instead of playing a 50/50 ball into the penalty area, Ropelearner's Jean-Félix D'hoedt skipped past the marking defender and passed the ball to Piotr Widzyk who finished it off from distance. The keeper could only stand and watch as the hard shot hit the underside of the cross bar, and in to make it 1 - 2 with 31 minutes played. The crowd chanted their encouragement as Grilled's Islom Davlatov came in from the right after 33 minutes and put the ball in the net to level the score at 2 - 2. 2 - 2 was the halftime score. Grilled claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 53 percent.

The home side put themselves ahead 3 - 2 after 67 minutes courtesy of a breakthrough from Florus Romijn, who scored with a stunning volley following a cross from the right wing. The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave Gábor Gém from Ropelearner a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 78 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! Speedy Vikram Mudaliar" class="homeplayer">Vikram Mudaliar tried one of his patented rushes 79 minutes into the game, but Gianluca Dioguardi was just as fast and averted the attack. Grilled managed to extend their lead to 4 - 2 when Kalki Parvathaneni" class="homeplayer">Kalki Parvathaneni cut in neatly from the left side and struck a fine shot past the away team's goalkeeper. Chan Ze Han" class="homeplayer">Chan Ze Han wanted to play on, but the Grilled coach had other ideas, and he was replaced 89 minutes into the game by Chong Tse Chu. The Grilled players could smell victory in the air. Kalki Parvathaneni" class="homeplayer">Kalki Parvathaneni wasn't in a hurry to leave the field as he was substituted for Leong Wan Kang after 89 minutes. It was announced by the referee that he estimated stoppage time to be around 1 minute. This meant there could still be an extra attack or two left in the match! The match ends 4 - 2. Grilled enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 52 percent of possession.

The most dominating Grilled player was without a doubt Neeraj Muthyala. Leong Wan Kang on the other hand, had a terrible day. Ropelearner's top performer was clearly Salomon Breuker. On the other hand, Baldomero Huamancayo's play was disheartening.
