WBLS 9 - 2 Grilled

iv id="matchReport"> 1892 spectators had come to The Sanctuary this cloudy day. Miljan Šainović was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Carlos José Marcou and Augustin Rosoga. The following players had been chosen: Christatos - Willoughby, Balducci, Watkins - Crowe, van Pottelsberghe de la Potterie, Halatau, Stamatelopoulos, Jangala-Robertson - Bridges, Patchell.

Starters: Seng - Tarin, bin Ahmad - van der Ban, Mottl, 勇航 (Yonghang), Saliman, Velho - Xin Lee, Parvathaneni, Eshrafi.

Wallacean Birdwatching & Lepidopterology Society entered the field in a 3-5-2 formation. The visitors, Grilled Birds, chose to start the game with a 2-5-3 lineup. Grilled mostly ignored the flanks in favour of their ability to attack in the middle, taking advantage of their mythical level with that tactic. A corner kick created great disorder in the penalty area with a goal nearly scored by Angus Bridges. At last, WBLS's Bradley 'Gasp' van Pottelsberghe de la Potterie was able to backheel the ball in. 1 - 0. The home side's Angus Bridges came close to extending the lead 18 minutes into the game. His shot came in from the right hand side but Dan Seng managed to save it with an unbelievable reaction stop. The referee showed WBLS's Rodoljub 'Imperial' Stamatelopoulos the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. After several obvious shirt pulling incidents, Bradley 'Gasp' van Pottelsberghe de la Potterie got himself booked. The manager of WBLS was not happy. Things were going to get worse for the visitors. Angus Bridges squirmed through their central defence after 30 minutes, increasing the lead to 2 - 0. The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave Remco van der Ban from Grilled a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 32 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! Grilled's 田 (Tian) 勇航 (Yonghang) got himself booked for a foul. After 34 minutes, WBLS sent a free kick in high over the penalty box. In what looked like a well-rehearsed move, the ball was headed backwards and reached Mahutia Halatau, who had plenty of space to place a well aimed shot - 3 - 0. With 35 minutes showing on the scoreboard clock, Grilled showed some good skill and were able to reduce the score to 3 - 1 when Mohammad Ramli Saliman got past the home side's central defenders right in front of the goal. WBLS's Mahutia Halatau was shown a yellow card after 38 minutes for slicing down an opponent. WBLS put themselves up 4 - 1 when Luc Willoughby broke through on the right, leaving the entire defence trailing in his wake. 4 - 1 was the halftime score. WBLS had most of the ball, with 63 percent of possession.

The bench was restless, and with 46 minutes passed Grilled's coach gave Krystian Rykowski the opportunity the player had been hoping for. Dan Seng reluctantly left the field. Although the whole team were struggling to impress, Grilled's Prokop Mottl" class="awayplayer">Prokop Mottl was singled out as being the problem as he was called off the pitch after 46 minutes. Chan Ze Han" class="awayplayer">Chan Ze Han was given a chance to change things around. Bradley 'Gasp' van Pottelsberghe de la Potterie wanted to play on, but the WBLS coach had other ideas, and he was replaced 46 minutes into the game by Keimo 'The Hunk' Anttila. After 65 minutes, Keimo 'The Hunk' Anttila made a complete fool of himself when he presented the ball to the feet of Iman Eshrafi who smashed it into the open goal for Grilled. 4 - 2. The WBLS players could smell victory in the air. Akis Christatos wasn't in a hurry to leave the field as he was substituted for Bud Vince after 67 minutes. With 68 minutes played, WBLS put themselves up 5 - 2 when the visiting defenders lost the ball to Rod Patchell, who came up from the left and proceeded to coolly round the keeper and knock the ball home. After 75 minutes, Grilled switched Rashid bin Ahmad with Chirag Thevar" class="awayplayer">Chirag Thevar, hoping for a quick impact on the pitch. One of many good crosses from Ikani Crowe on the wing was received and skillfully taken care of by Rod Patchell, who scored for WBLS. 6 - 2 Cheers filled the stadium as Jayendra 'Ya Ya' Jangala-Robertson broke through the visitors' central defence to put away the ball to increase the lead to 7 - 2 to WBLS. WBLS managed to extend their lead to 8 - 2 when Rod Patchell cut in neatly from the left side and struck a fine shot past the away team's goalkeeper. By then Rod Patchell had scored three goals - a hat trick! WBLS's Angus Bridges increased the lead to 9 - 2, after he saw his shot go between the legs of the advancing goalkeeper following some good play down the right wing after 82 minutes. The players were tired, but when the referee announced that there would be 4 minutes of added time they, nonetheless, welcomed the extra opportunity to make an impact. The match ends 9 - 2. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by WBLS, with 65 percent of the ball.

The most dominating WBLS player was without a doubt Mahutia Halatau. However, Jayendra 'Ya Ya' Jangala-Robertson made a disastrous appearance. Grilled's top performer was clearly Mohammad Ramli Saliman. Remco van der Ban turned in a dismal performance, however.
