Grilled had a good opportunity to attack on the wing, but remembered their instructions to go for middle attacks. W. Shun An challenged the visitors' central defence eagerly, producing a good chance 37 minutes into the game as he went for a through ball. But, as so many times before, the guests' defensive efforts got the best of it. 39 minutes in, Penguins's M. Totev received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. 0 - 3 was the halftime score. Possession in this half belonged to Grilled, who controlled the ball 67 percent of the time.

Penguins's G. Polani was shown a yellow card after 66 minutes for slicing down an opponent. After 79 minutes, A. Leong Kum had a good opportunity to reduce the scoreline for Grilled with a chance created through the middle, but wasn't cool enough. Grilled enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 65 percent of possession.
