Champions 1 - 2 Grilled

iv id="matchReport"> 69585 fans braved the pouring rain at The Special Place. Humberto Freitas Gomes was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Marc Klausgraber and Kazimierz Wach. Fans of both teams had been eagerly awaiting this Jurong derby and were doing their best to outshout their opponents. Champions had chosen a strategic 4-5-1 formation. Lineup: Ortega - van Wijk, Bejan, Vaidhyanathan, Göransson - Pouderoux, 世昉 (Shifang), Pang, Ah De, Tse Jian - Ütkün.

Grilled started off with a 2-5-3 lineup. The following players took the field: Tian Han - 福泉 (Fuquan) , Filippone - Ping Shun, Jing Wei, Shun An, Meyer, 长春 (Changchun) - bin Mohd Kassim, 勇航 (Yonghang) , Ying Lee.

Grilled clearly preferred using their ability to attack in the middle. With 4 minutes showing on the scoreboard, Champions had a chance to take the lead after being awarded a penalty, but Agasthya Vaidhyanathan's shot was blocked by Wong Tian Han. Central attacks were the recipe of the day for Grilled, as they moved the ball from the wings to the middle with startling regularity. 17 minutes into the game, Zhao 'Arrow' Jing Wei almost gave the visitors the lead, as he clipped a delicate lob over the keeper, but the ball glanced harmlessly off the crossbar. Edmundo Ortega looked great 23 minutes into the match after stopping a shot from the middle of the penalty area from the visitors' Mohd Safri bin Mohd Kassim. The corner kick from Agasthya Vaidhyanathan was powerfully met by the head of Arnold 'Schwarzenegger' Pang to make the score 1 - 0. Halftime score was 1 - 0. Possession in this half belonged to Grilled, who controlled the ball 58 percent of the time.

The boggy pitch disrupted the game, especially for technical players like 田 (Tian) 勇航 (Yonghang) . Champions's Dorin Bejan was shown a yellow card after 69 minutes for slicing down an opponent. The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave Foo 'Frankie' Ah De from Champions a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 72 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! Mohd Safri bin Mohd Kassim tied the game at 1 - 1 after 74 minutes, when he converted an incredible pass from the right. Grilled players heard their coach's words ringing in their ears and steered their wing attacks to the middle instead. 1 - 2 was the score with 76 minutes played, after Chow Ying Lee cut through the central defence and chipped home a goal for Grilled. Content with how the game was proceeding, the Grilled coach let Rinor Isufi replace Chow Ying Lee after 85 minutes. 85 minutes into the match, Woon Shun An came through the middle and almost added to his team's lead, but the shot went wide. Grilled claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 57 percent.

Ali Ütkün performed admirably for Champions. However, Dorin Bejan made a disastrous appearance. Grilled's best player was Mohd Safri bin Mohd Kassim. On the other hand, 朱 (Zhu) 长春 (Changchun)'s play was disheartening. The match ends 1 - 2.
