Polonia 1 - 6 Grilled

4-5-0 alignment was the formation of choice for Polonia. Starters: Boyer - Kaukoranta, de Rooij, Maisel, Kalpadakis - Costa, Wörns, Polat, Blanco, Mondowitsch -.

Grilled decided to use a 2-5-3 set up. Lineup: Tian Han - 福泉 (Fuquan), Filippone - Ping Shun, 长春 (Changchun), Shun An, Jing Wei, Aik Jia - bin Mohd Kassim, Ying Lee, 勇航 (Yonghang).

Going for long shots seemed to be the strategy in use by Polonia. Grilled clearly preferred using their ability to attack in the middle. The terraces were silenced after 23 minutes when Grilled's M. bin Mohd Kassim put the guests ahead 0 - 1, following an attack on the right. J. Kaukoranta sailed high above the opponents as he headed in a corner kick from R. Blanco after 32 minutes of play, making the score 1 - 1. With 32 minutes played, the visitors broke through on the right after some poor defending. G. Filippone put the ball away for 1 - 2. After 38 minutes a combination in the middle resulted in a through ball for C. Ying Lee who increased Grilled's lead to 1 - 3. 42 minutes in, Polonia appeared unsure on how to play and their organisation was only passable. Some fine movement on the left led to a Grilled goal after 43 minutes, making it 1 - 4. W. Shun An was noted down as the scorer. After this, you could see that the players of Grilled were more interested in killing time than scoring more goals. 44 minutes into the game, Polonia seemed a little tentative in their play as their organization fell to weak. 1 - 4 was the score after the first half. Grilled claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 63 percent.

During the break, Polonia's coach went through the team's tactics yet again, getting them up to passable organisation. Grilled were determined to attack in the middle, even their wing attacks ended up centrally. After 59 minutes, Grilled's C. Ying Lee burst through the central defence and let loose a cannonball of a shot, scoring for 1 - 5. 60 minutes into the game, Polonia had difficulty finding their positions and their organisation dropped to inadequate. It wasn't a good day at all for W. Shun An. His powerful style of play just didn't fit the bill on this warm day. After 74 minutes, there was a bit of a mixup on the field as Polonia found themselves out of position and their organisation level dropped to poor. With 76 minutes played, Grilled's well-worked indirect free kick caused havoc in the penalty area, and when the ball eventually fell to M. bin Mohd Kassim he gleefully slotted the ball home to make it 1 - 6. G. Filippone was, after 83 minutes, almost able to extend the visitors' lead with a well placed diving header after the ball had looped into the centre, but the home side's keeper G. Boyer made the save. C. Costa didn't pace himself at all, and after a series of daring offensive runs he was too tired to help out in the defensive play. The home crowd cheered when, after 87 minutes, G. Filippone's charge up the middle resulted in the keeper making one of his best saves of the day. Content with how the game was proceeding, the Grilled coach let D. Bacelar replace C. Ying Lee after 89 minutes. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Grilled, with 66 percent of the ball.

R. Wörns performed admirably for Polonia. K. Mondowitsch was a disappointment, however. The most dominating Grilled player was without a doubt M. bin Mohd Kassim. D. Bacelar turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 1 - 6.
