Dark skies made the crowd of 67530 at The Cooking Pot a little nervous, but the rain held off. Schorsch Schaechtelin was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Ivan Carlsson and Reickard Kleppinger. Grilled had chosen a strategic 2-5-3 formation. They fielded: Tian Han - 福泉 (Fuquan) , bin Ahmad - Ping Shun, 长春 (Changchun), Shun An, Jing Wei, bin Jantan - bin Mohd Kassim, Ying Lee, 勇航 (Yonghang).

A 3-5-2 alignment was the formation of choice for Young. The following players had been chosen: Hautin - Bertóthy, Bergmański, Santarelli - Rådman, Dinger, Sucharzewski, Ayaydın, Telichkin - Vieira, Coiffier.

Many thought A. bin Jantan ought to have been awarded a penalty 2 minutes into the game, as he went down trying to dribble around M. Hautin after a determined run through the middle. Given a free kick close to the byline, Young tried a move that loyal fans may recognise from training. A pass to the side pulled the defence out of position which let A. Vieira slip through on goal. He didn't have to break his stride, and slipped the ball past the keeper to make it 0 - 1, 7 minutes into the game. The crowd chanted their encouragement as Grilled's 田. 勇航 (Yonghang) came in from the right after 7 minutes and put the ball in the net to level the score at 1 - 1. M. Hautin had to be alert to tip W. Ping Shun's fantastic penalty kick over the bar, denying Grilled a chance at the lead. Grilled had to make a substitution after 30 minutes. R. bin Ahmad limped off the field and was replaced by Q. Madaini. 凌. 福泉 (Fuquan) of Grilled received a yellow card after 35 minutes for unsportsmanlike behaviour. The visitors' central defence should have had no trouble clearing the pass to 田. 勇航 (Yonghang) , but the Grilled player managed to shrug them off and fired a low shot past the keeper to give his team the lead. 2 - 1! C. Coiffier came close to levelling the score 40 minutes into the game, as he was set up with a through ball coming in from the left, but his shot hit the post. 2 - 1 was the halftime score. Grilled claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 53 percent.

Young's S. Rådman lived up to his reputation for finding unexpected ways to get the ball in the net when he sent a nifty little pass over to A. Vieira who finished for 2 - 2 with 60 minutes of the match played. Grilled's C. Ying Lee tried to break through in the middle repeatedly, but couldn't get past the visitors' defenders. The referee showed Grilled's A. bin Jantan the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. Grilled created a good opportunity to score 76 minutes into the match when M. bin Mohd Kassim's hooked ball from the left created a scuffle in front of the goal, and the visitors' defenders had a hard time clearing the ball. With 77 minutes played, the visitors broke through on the right after some poor defending. S. Rådman put the ball away for 2 - 3. Grilled enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 54 percent of possession.

田. 勇航 (Yonghang) performed admirably for Grilled. On the other hand, A. bin Jantan's play was disheartening. Young's top performer was clearly C. Coiffier. A. Santarelli on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 2 - 3.
