Yew 3 - 4 Grilled

ercast weather free of rain made for a crowd turnout of 59110 at Tea Lovers' Joint today. Bruno Liaci was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Themba Ngidhi and Maxime Gautier. People from all over Jurong had joined up for the derby. Yew started off with a 4-5-1 lineup. The following players had been chosen: San Gil Cortázar - Renault, Talamonti, Arévalo Morales, Hecl - bin Razuwan, Ampuja, Silva Mendoza, Rancke, Beierbahs - Reinicke.

Grilled had chosen a strategic 2-5-3 formation. Starters: Kryus - 福泉 (Fuquan) , Madaini - Shaahee, 长春 (Changchun), Shun An, Jing Wei, bin Jantan - bin Mohd Kassim, 勇航 (Yonghang) , Ying Lee.

It was an obvious ambition of Yew to use their ability at attacking on the flanks. Grilled tried to focus their attacks down the middle. Chow Ying Lee's speed was clear to see after 12 minutes, as he darted down the wing and released Mohd Safri bin Mohd Kassim who placed the ball into the back of the net to make the score 0 - 1. The crowd was on its feet 22 minutes into the match, as Yew's Mauricio Silva Mendoza found himself unmarked in front of the goal after a dash up the left side. He calmly put away the 1 - 1 equaliser. Grilled's 凌. 福泉 (Fuquan) got himself booked for a foul. Haji Abdullah bin Razuwan's knee will be throbbing for days, but thankfully for Yew, he bravely continued in the match. Grilled were determined to attack in the middle, even their wing attacks ended up centrally. 32 minutes into the game, Shiya Shaahee almost gave the visitors the lead, as he clipped a delicate lob over the keeper, but the ball glanced harmlessly off the crossbar. After 33 minutes, Grilled's Mohd Safri bin Mohd Kassim made his way through the middle and nonchalantly placed the ball out of the keeper's reach, putting the visitors up 1 - 2. Attacking on the wings was the choice for Yew, and they were successfully passing the ball from the middle to the wings to attack. 36 minutes in, and Yew were able to score the equalising goal to make it 2 - 2 when Wilfried Rancke picked up a pass coming in from the right and chipped it past the away team's keeper. 2 - 3 was the score with 37 minutes played, after Shiya Shaahee cut through the central defence and chipped home a goal for Grilled. 凌. 福泉 (Fuquan) knew he was in trouble after hacking down an opponent. Despite his pleading with the referee, the Grilled player was shown a second yellow card and dismissed from the game. 2 - 3 was the halftime score. Grilled enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 54 percent of possession.

Chow Ying Lee of Grilled was able to make an impressive rush past the sluggish Jari Talamonti, which resulted in a goal making the score 2 - 4. It took several tries, but Yew managed to break through on the left after 67 minutes, getting the ball to Hannes-Noah Reinicke who easily reduced the lead to make the score 3 - 4. Drahomír Hecl of Yew received a yellow card after 74 minutes for unsportsmanlike behaviour. After 77 minutes of game time, 田. 勇航 (Yonghang) had an excellent opportunity to add to the visitors' lead, clipping a volley hooked in from the right, but D. San Gil Cortázar was in the right place and tipped the ball over for a corner. Grilled claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 54 percent.

Yew's best player was D. San Gil Cortázar. On the other hand, Jari Talamonti's play was disheartening. Most important Grilled player was Mohd Safri bin Mohd Kassim. Edmund Kryus on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 3 - 4.
