Young 5 - 2 Grilled

215 punters turned up at Kandang Harimau, and despite threatening clouds on the horizon, no rain came. Tom Harsch was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Joona Vihriä and Nguyễn Văn Tự. Young started off with a 3-5-2 lineup. Starters: Hautin - Santarelli, Sucharzewski, Largoet - Telichkin, Ayaydın, Dinger, Rådman, Escuteiro - Vieira, van der Ven.

Grilled decided to use a 2-5-3 set up. The following players took the field: Kryus - 力勇 (Liyong), Madaini - bin Jantan, 长春 (Changchun), Jing Wei, 尊文 (Zunwen) , Shun An - bin Mohd Kassim, 勇航 (Yonghang) , Ying Lee.

Grilled seemed to prefer attacking in the middle. After 16 minutes, Donnie van der Ven came in from the right, feinted, then sped past the off-balance defender to make the score 1 - 0, giving Young the lead. A scuffle developed as players from both sides clashed following a tussle in the centre of the field 22 minutes into the match. After regaining order and consulting his linesman, the referee called Grilled's Mohd Safri bin Mohd Kassim to one side and produced a red card for the player. Gerard Dinger of Young was booked for kicking the ball away after the whistle. With 29 minutes played, Young put themselves up 2 - 0 when the visiting defenders lost the ball to Paweł Sucharzewski, who came up from the left and proceeded to coolly round the keeper and knock the ball home. Grilled were determined to attack in the middle, even their wing attacks ended up centrally. With 35 minutes showing on the scoreboard clock, Grilled showed some good skill and were able to reduce the score to 2 - 1 when Chow Ying Lee got past the home side's central defenders right in front of the goal. It was 2 - 1 at the break. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Young, with 51 percent of the ball.

Young's Zülfikâr Ayaydın increased the lead to 3 - 1, after he saw his shot go between the legs of the advancing goalkeeper following some good play down the right wing after 64 minutes. The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave Paweł Sucharzewski from Young a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 68 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! After 71 minutes, a couple of quick and successful challenges followed by a shot from just outside the penalty area by Donnie van der Ven might have resulted in another goal for Young. However, Edmund Kryus made a spectacular save. A speedy charge from the left side of the field increased the lead of Young to 4 - 1 as Aníbal Vieira finished it off competently, firing in from an acute angle. Zülfikâr Ayaydın couldn't do anything to stop the technically gifted 田. 勇航 (Yonghang) as he dodged past on his way to scoring a wonderful goal for Grilled - 4 - 2! With 76 minutes played, Young's Zülfikâr Ayaydın almost extended the lead, but his shot from the left glanced off the top of the bar to fall behind the net. Young increased the lead as Donnie van der Ven struck to make the score 5 - 2 after an attack from the left left him unmarked in front of the keeper. After this, you could see that the players of Young were more interested in killing time than scoring more goals. With 85 minutes played, the Grilled coach decided a substitution may help turn the game around. Shiya Shaahee came on, Abdul bin Jantan had to leave the fray. Young had most of the ball, with 52 percent of possession.

Young's top performer was clearly Aníbal Vieira. S. Rådman was a disappointment, however. Grilled's best player was 田. 勇航 (Yonghang) . On the other hand, Woon Shun An's play was disheartening. The match ends 5 - 2.
