Slack defending gave Grilled a chance to take the lead with 4 minutes played, but Chow Ying Lee's cross from the left flank was fumbled in front of the goal and easily dealt with by the opposition. Saints mounted an inspired counterattack down the right wing after 13 minutes, but Ong Sze Yeow was unable to convert from short range. The home side put themselves ahead 1 - 0 after 20 minutes courtesy of a breakthrough from Woon Shun An, who scored with a stunning volley following a cross from the right wing. 1 - 0 was the halftime score. Grilled claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 61 percent.

A well-executed free kick by Qassem Madaini after 51 minutes made it 2 - 0 for Grilled. Grilled's Mohd Safri bin Mohd Kassim increased the lead to 3 - 0, after he saw his shot go between the legs of the advancing goalkeeper following some good play down the right wing after 64 minutes. The away team improved the scoreline to 3 - 1, as Liow Chun Jing struck home, set up well by a play on the left 68 minutes into the match. 卢. 尊文 (Zunwen) had a fantastic opportunity to put Grilled up another goal 69 minutes into the match, but he fired just over the crossbar. Chow Ying Lee increased the lead for Grilled to 4 - 1, getting a head onto a hooked ball from the right. The ball looked to have taken a deflection on the way in, but he's claiming it! Grilled enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 64 percent of possession.

Most important Grilled player was Chow Ying Lee. Edmund Kryus turned in a dismal performance, however. Saints's top performer was clearly Neo Kong Nie. Wan Husain Tajuddin was a disappointment, however. The match ends 4 - 1.
