Grilled's goal to make the score 1 - 2 came via a questionable penalty, but Qassem Madaini struck it home without a second thought. After a fatal mistake from the away team's right side defence 26 minutes into the match, an alert 岳 (Yue) 豪平 (Haoping) bagged the ball for newbies, levelling the score to 2 - 2. Grilled players heard their coach's words ringing in their ears and steered their wing attacks to the middle instead. Grilled had several good opportunities to take the lead, especially 29 minutes in when Qassem Madaini came up alone against Javier Caamaño who managed a block. Giulio Bollini hit the corner kick straight to the keeper, but he mishandled it, giving newbies's Petrică Dan an easy chance to knock it in for 3 - 2. A magnificent combination in the middle resulted in newbies's Petrică Dan increasing the lead to 4 - 2. 38 minutes in, Grilled's 卢 (lu) 尊文 (Zunwen) received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. Ante Skrjanc increased the lead for newbies to 5 - 2, getting a head onto a hooked ball from the right. The ball looked to have taken a deflection on the way in, but he's claiming it! Confident in their lead, newbies's players relaxed and focused more on defending the lead than increasing it. Halftime score was 5 - 2. Grilled were determined to attack in the middle, even their wing attacks ended up centrally. With 70 minutes played, the Grilled coach decided a substitution may help turn the game around. Alex Fonseca came on, 卢 (lu) 尊文 (Zunwen) had to leave the fray. 张 (Zhang) 偌添 (Ruotian) could have increased the lead after 70 minutes, but his shot hit the post after a nice combination in the middle of the park. Grilled fought on and, after 85 minutes, Abdul bin Jantan was able to reduce the deficit to 5 - 4 after some excellent moves on the right side were finished off with an incredibly clever chip. Grilled enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 51 percent of possession.
