3-5-2 alignment was the formation of choice for Curiosity. Starters: D'Aprile - Lidorikis, Zetter, Pla - Tse Jian, Świątek, Soon Lee, bin Yusoff, bin Omar - Xin Shun, Bos.

Grilled tactics involved an interesting 2-5-3 combination. They fielded: Seng - 福泉 (Fuquan), Madaini - bin Jantan, 尊文 (Zunwen), Shun An, Djekshenkulov, 长春 (Changchun) - bin Mohd Kassim, Ying Lee, 勇航 (Yonghang).

Grilled used their ability to concentrate their attacks in the middle of the pitch, rather than on the wings. The guests almost went up by a goal after 27 minutes when 田 (Tian) 勇航 (Yonghang) came through and shot from the right. The ball bounced harmlessly off the post, though. Grilled took the lead 32 minutes into the game, making the score 0 - 1 after some elegant movement down the middle. 田 (Tian) 勇航 (Yonghang) was the scorer. In a well-rehearsed move, Curiosity delivered a free kick into the box which Antoine Bos, soaring majestically above the defence, rose to head home to make the score 1 - 1. Grilled were determined to attack in the middle, even their wing attacks ended up centrally. The visiting Mohd Safri bin Mohd Kassim was booed thoroughly by the home crowd 34 minutes into the game, after he broke through the middle and scored, resulting in the visitors taking the lead. 1 - 2 was the score. 38 minutes in, Curiosity's Bolesław Świątek received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. After 39 minutes of play, Ibo Zetter equalised for Curiosity after an elegant attack from the right. Halftime score was 2 - 2. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Grilled, with 52 percent of the ball.

Curiosity took the lead 51 minutes into the match after a magnificent free kick by Antoine Bos that made the score 3 - 2. Grilled's Woon Shun An got himself booked for a foul. Although the whole team were struggling to impress, Grilled's Abdul bin Jantan was singled out as being the problem as he was called off the pitch after 70 minutes. Gleb Dorogan was given a chance to change things around. The referee showed Curiosity's Daniel Pla the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. Grilled's 田 (Tian) 勇航 (Yonghang) excelled in some fine tricks that completely confused Mohd bin Yusoff - and the finish was no less spectacular - 3 - 3! After 87 minutes, Grilled's Mohd Safri bin Mohd Kassim made his way through the middle and nonchalantly placed the ball out of the keeper's reach, putting the visitors up 3 - 4. The Curiosity players listened closely to their manager, as he gave new tactical instructions for the team. The Curiosity coach was desperate to reverse his team's fortunes in the game, and ordered his team to change strategy. Content with how the game was proceeding, the Grilled coach let Leong Wan Kang replace 田 (Tian) 勇航 (Yonghang) after 88 minutes. The Grilled players could smell victory in the air. Chow Ying Lee wasn't in a hurry to leave the field as he was substituted for Pompeo Bellamoli after 88 minutes. Curiosity's Mohd bin Yusoff put his head to a high ball coming in from the right after 89 minutes, but the ball went wide. After 89 minutes, Grilled began to show their lack of experience and they threatened to wilt under the heavy pressure from their opposition. Grilled enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 53 percent of possession.

Curiosity's best player was Ang Tse Jian. On the other hand, Ho Xin Shun's play was disheartening. The most dominating Grilled player was without a doubt Mohd Safri bin Mohd Kassim. However, Dan Seng made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 3 - 4.
