Grilled seemed to prefer attacking in the middle. For their match strategy, Liao had decided to use their ability to counter-attack whenever possible. 10 minutes into the game, 马 (Ma) 嘉德 (Jiade) was a hair's breadth away from giving Liao the lead with a shot from over on the left. A prompt block by Edmund Kryus saved the home team that time. 管 (Guan) 云文 (Yunwen) made a nice dash down the wing after 21 minutes, but was unable to get the cross into the box. A goal kick was awarded. Grilled were very close to putting themselves one up after 23 minutes as 田 (Tian) 勇航 (Yonghang) got through on the left, but failing in concentration, he shot the ball wide. Grilled were determined to attack in the middle, even their wing attacks ended up centrally. They were singing the praises of Chow Ying Lee 30 minutes into the match after his speculative chip from the middle of the penalty box found its way over the visitors' keeper to make the score 1 - 0 to Grilled. The corner kick from Qassem Madaini was powerfully met by the head of Mohd Safri bin Mohd Kassim to make the score 2 - 0. An awe-inspiring free kick by Luigi Antonio Giorgiani of Liao resulted in a goal 33 minutes into the game! 2 - 1 was the new score. Halftime score was 2 - 1. Neither team were able to dominate possession this half.

After 57 minutes, a couple of quick and successful challenges followed by a shot from just outside the penalty area by Abdul bin Jantan might have resulted in another goal for Grilled. However, Diego Armando Urtaza made a spectacular save. Luigi Antonio Giorgiani finished off the counterattack of Liao from the left rather easily, making the score 2 - 2. 75 minutes into the game, Grilled wanted to bring some new energy to their game. Abdul bin Jantan gave Gleb Dorogan a quick hug as he left the field. 80 minutes into the match, the speedy Chow Ying Lee easily outpaced Luigi Antonio Giorgiani, chipped the keeper and made the score 3 - 2. Cheers filled the stadium as 田 (Tian) 勇航 (Yonghang) broke through the visitors' central defence to put away the ball to increase the lead to 4 - 2 to Grilled. After this, you could see that the players of Grilled were more interested in killing time than scoring more goals. 87 minutes into the game, Liao's attack got through on the right, but 马 (Ma) 嘉德 (Jiade) couldn't handle the ball and his feeble kick wound up in the keeper's arms. Possession in this half belonged to Grilled, who controlled the ball 53 percent of the time.

Most important Grilled player was 田 (Tian) 勇航 (Yonghang). However, Edmund Kryus made a disastrous appearance. Liao's best player was Eugénio Soares. On the other hand, 管 (Guan) 云文 (Yunwen)'s play was disheartening. The match ends 4 - 2.
