SpartanSG's Lin Lai Pin struck his penalty well enough to beat the goalkeeper and extend the home team's lead to 2 - 0 after 19 minutes. SpartanSG solidified their lead at the 31 minute mark, as Wong Nie Tze dribbled the ball through the opposing central defence and scored to make it 3 - 0. Ater 34 minutes Mohd Safri bin Mohd Kassim seized on an opportunistic attack from the right, and scored for Grilled making it 3 - 1. With 35 minutes played, SpartanSG put themselves up 4 - 1 when the visiting defenders lost the ball to Joachim November, who came up from the left and proceeded to coolly round the keeper and knock the ball home. 4 - 1 was the halftime score. SpartanSG claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 52 percent.

The visitors got one back when 田 (Tian) 勇航 (Yonghang) finished off a pass from the left and scored after 50 minutes. 4 - 2 was the score. SpartanSG put themselves up 5 - 2 when Håkan Dalstål broke through on the right, leaving the entire defence trailing in his wake. Grilled's Shiya Shaahee excelled in some fine tricks that completely confused Sergio Vázquez - and the finish was no less spectacular - 5 - 3! Grilled were desperate to get a goal back and pushed forward through the middle 64 minutes into the game. After a scramble in the box, the ball dropped to Chow Ying Lee, who smashed it home to make the score 5 - 4. 68 minutes into the match the visitors levelled the score at 5 - 5 as Chow Ying Lee struck home from a rebound off the crossbar, following a shot from the right. 70 minutes into the game, Grilled wanted to bring some new energy to their game. Gleb Dorogan gave Alex Fonseca a quick hug as he left the field. Grilled had several good opportunities to take the lead, especially 72 minutes in when 卢 (lu) 尊文 (Zunwen) came up alone against Mok Kim Sze who managed a block. After 76 minutes SpartanSG's Mok Kim Sze limped slightly after a late challenge, but he was able to continue. SpartanSG had most of the ball, with 52 percent of possession.

The most dominating SpartanSG player was without a doubt Shaiful Bahri bin Ahmad Rosdi. Wong Nie Tze turned in a dismal performance, however. Most important Grilled player was 田 (Tian) 勇航 (Yonghang) . Edmund Kryus on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 5 - 5.
