Grilled mostly ignored the flanks in favour of their ability to attack in the middle. Siegmund were relying on their ability to counter-attack. It was obvious that team Grilled had instructions to attack in the middle instead of on the wings. Alex Fonseca caused the crowd to go mental with his goal up the middle after 14 minutes. This gave Grilled the 1 - 0 lead. Siegmund's Feddo Heersema placed the ball right at his teammate's feet after a corner, but Markus Schlager couldn't finish. Grilled had a good opportunity to attack on the wing, but remembered their instructions to go for middle attacks. Cheers filled the stadium as Mohd Safri bin Mohd Kassim broke through the visitors' central defence to put away the ball to increase the lead to 2 - 0 to Grilled. Grilled solidified their lead at the 30 minute mark, as Abdul bin Jantan dribbled the ball through the opposing central defence and scored to make it 3 - 0. The players of Grilled now seemed to think the job was done and acted more defensively, just waiting for the ref to blow the final whistle. The counterattacks of Siegmund were deadly and 39 minutes into the game, Markus Schlager received a nice pass from the right flank, making it 3 - 1. With 41 minutes played, the excellent ball from the wing by Siegmund's Feddo Heersema reached Leo Simons's head, and he is not one to miss such an opportunity - 3 - 2. A magnificent combination in the middle resulted in Grilled's Chow Ying Lee increasing the lead to 4 - 2. The referee showed Siegmund's Feddo Heersema the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. 4 - 2 was the halftime score. Grilled had most of the ball, with 60 percent of possession.

Leo Simons of Siegmund seemed to be floating in the air as he elegantly headed in to make the score 4 - 3 after a corner kick that was nicely executed by 丁 (Ding) 静南 (Jingnan). Grilled players heard their coach's words ringing in their ears and steered their wing attacks to the middle instead. Things were going to get worse for the visitors. Mohd Safri bin Mohd Kassim squirmed through their central defence after 69 minutes, increasing the lead to 5 - 3. The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave 田 (Tian) 勇航 (Yonghang) from Grilled a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 72 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! A foul called during a Siegmund counterattack resulted in a great chance to score, but 丁 (Ding) 静南 (Jingnan)'s shot rattled off the post. The coach of Grilled was happy with the game so far, but still wanted to change the line up. After 85 minutes, 林 (Lin) 俊桂 (Jungui) came on for Qassem Madaini. Dexter Stacey was the new captain of Grilled - handed the armband by the departing player. Siegmund will have to do without Mohd Azmani bin Hasyim for a time, due to a bad foot injury at the 86 minute mark. He was substituted by 賢 (Ken) 中村 (Nakamura). Siegmund's Kwan Ze Su was shown a yellow card after 87 minutes for slicing down an opponent. Grilled were forced to a substitution as Abdul bin Jantan couldn't continue playing due to the rough treatment, forcing Yvan Lefébure to come in from the sidelines. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Grilled, with 59 percent of the ball.

Most important Grilled player was Mohd Safri bin Mohd Kassim. On the other hand, Alex Fonseca's play was disheartening. Siegmund's best player was 丁 (Ding) 静南 (Jingnan). Laurent Crespin was a disappointment, however. The match ends 5 - 3.
