RFC 3 - 0 Grilled

e weather was pretty good, and a crowd of 58579 had shown up at RFC Arena for the match. Alexander Backmund was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Dariusz Sauter and Joachim Mialon. RFC had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. They fielded: El-Haroun - Pölönen, Fromesta, Hansson - Polat, Verpoot, Feng Liang, 聪郁 (Congyu), Impellizzeri - Bettella, Ehrsam.

Grilled started off with a 2-5-3 lineup. The following players had been chosen: Stacey - 俊桂 (Jungui), Ross - Iten, bin Jantan, Fonseca, 长春 (Changchun), Djekshenkulov - bin Mohd Kassim, 勇航 (Yonghang) , Ying Lee.

Grilled used their ability to concentrate their attacks in the middle of the pitch, rather than on the wings. RFC took the lead after 8 minutes as a result of Massimo Impellizzeri's peach of a shot from the right hand side of the box - placed beautifully in the top corner. 1 - 0. RFC's Massimo Impellizzeri knew what he was doing as he waited patiently for the right opportunity. He would get no better chance than the one he took, but his shot was deftly blocked by the keeper. Against a lesser team, Grilled could very well have succeeded with their smart indirect free kick routine after 17 minutes. A trio of passes took the ball all the way past the defenders, but by then the intended recipient was already blocked off and the keeper could make a leisurely save. Tom Hansson could have put RFC up one more, but he fired into the side netting after breaking free on the left after 24 minutes. 1 - 0 was the score after the first half. Possession in this half belonged to RFC, who controlled the ball 54 percent of the time.

Cheers filled the stadium as Tong Feng Liang broke through the visitors' central defence to put away the ball to increase the lead to 2 - 0 to RFC. Harald Polat of RFC was booked for kicking the ball away after the whistle. Things were going to get worse for the visitors. Tong Feng Liang squirmed through their central defence after 67 minutes, increasing the lead to 3 - 0. After this, you could see that the players of RFC were more interested in killing time than scoring more goals. The home side's 付 (Fu) 聪郁 (Congyu) came close to extending the lead 69 minutes into the game. His shot came in from the right hand side but Dexter Stacey managed to save it with an unbelievable reaction stop. Arseniy Gotovtsev was called on to replace RFC's Angelo Ehrsam after 74 minutes following a nasty collision. Although the whole team were struggling to impress, Grilled's Alex Fonseca was singled out as being the problem as he was called off the pitch after 80 minutes. Yvan Lefébure was given a chance to change things around. 82 minutes in, Grilled's Seytek Djekshenkulov received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. A questionable free kick call just outside the home side's penalty area gave Grilled a chance at reducing the score 83 minutes into the match. In the end, the ball went wide. Grilled needed a fresh pair of legs on the field, and after 88 minutes Walter Ross made way for Qassem Madaini. RFC had most of the ball, with 56 percent of possession.

RFC's best player was 付 (Fu) 聪郁 (Congyu). Abdeen El-Haroun on the other hand, had a terrible day. Most important Grilled player was Mohd Safri bin Mohd Kassim. However, Paolo Iten made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 3 - 0.
