Grilled 9 - 0 Reds
ercast weather free of rain made for a crowd turnout of 3437 at The Cooking Pot today.
Ariel Justicia was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Henrik Mathiasson and
Antonio Simeone. Grilled started off with a 2-5-3 lineup. They fielded: Stacey - 俊桂 (Jungui), Madaini - Shaahee, bin Jantan, 尊文 (Zunwen) , 长春 (Changchun), Djekshenkulov - bin Mohd Kassim, 勇航 (Yonghang) , Ying Lee.
Reds had chosen a strategic 5-2-3 formation. The following players took the field: Creus - Haenel, Drejer, Marelić, Sjekloća, Tikulin - Larsen, Šajevas - Niemi, Kolomiets, Volpin.
The celebrations in the stands could only mean one thing -
Qassem Madaini's free kick had found the back of the net and put Grilled ahead 1 to 0! Grilled solidified their lead at the 23 minute mark, as
Abdul bin Jantan dribbled the ball through the opposing central defence and scored to make it 2 - 0. With 26 minutes played,
Eirik Larsen of Reds fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee was unimpressed, and booked him for diving. The Grilled free kick 29 minutes into the match seemed wasted, as the shot was both short and off target. But was this actually a plan? The ball landed at the feet of
朱 (Zhu) 长春 (Changchun), who was completely unmarked in the box. That's 3 - 0! A great save by keeper
Josep Creus after 35 minutes kept the visitors in the game after
Chow Ying Lee struck from the left with a real cannonball.
Chow Ying Lee's speed is always a threat when he gets a little room to move, and 37 minutes into the match was no different as he broke free of his man to send a delightful through ball to
Mohd Safri bin Mohd Kassim who knocked it in for Grilled. 4 - 0! Grilled increased the lead as
Chow Ying Lee struck to make the score 5 - 0 after an attack from the left left him unmarked in front of the keeper. By now, the players in Grilled felt that victory was guaranteed and began to play it safe, focusing on defence and not risking too much going forward. There was concern in the stands when, at the 39 minute mark, Reds's
Toni 'Mourinho' Niemi hit the ground hard, but he refused the attention of the trainer and rejoined his teammates on the pitch. 5 - 0 was the halftime score. Grilled enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 80 percent of possession.
Things were deteriorating for the away team as Grilled scored another to make it 6 - 0 after a left side attack resulted in a goal for
Abdul bin Jantan after 52 minutes. Grilled's
田 (Tian) 勇航 (Yonghang) increased the lead to 7 - 0, after he saw his shot go between the legs of the advancing goalkeeper following some good play down the right wing after 54 minutes. Reds needed a fresh pair of legs on the field, and after 60 minutes
Toni 'Mourinho' Niemi made way for
Kjell Johansen.
Eirik Larsen became the new Reds captain. After 61 minutes, Reds switched
Massimiliano Volpin with
Nurdulat Abil'gazin, hoping for a quick impact on the pitch. Although the whole team were struggling to impress, Reds's
Volodymyr Kolomiets was singled out as being the problem as he was called off the pitch after 62 minutes.
Lucjusz Chaberek was given a chance to change things around. With 74 minutes played, Grilled put themselves up 8 - 0 when the visiting defenders lost the ball to
田 (Tian) 勇航 (Yonghang) , who came up from the left and proceeded to coolly round the keeper and knock the ball home. Against a lesser team, Grilled could very well have succeeded with their smart indirect free kick routine after 75 minutes. A trio of passes took the ball all the way past the defenders, but by then the intended recipient was already blocked off and the keeper could make a leisurely save. After 76 minutes, Grilled's
Qassem Madaini found the back of the goal with a beautiful free kick. 9 - 0.
Seytek Djekshenkulov wanted to play on, but the Grilled coach had other ideas, and he was replaced 89 minutes into the game by
Paolo Iten. The coach of Grilled was happy with the game so far, but still wanted to change the line up. After 89 minutes,
Alex Fonseca came on for
Abdul bin Jantan. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Grilled, with 81 percent of the ball.
Most important Grilled player was
Mohd Safri bin Mohd Kassim.
Paolo Iten was a disappointment, however. Reds's top performer was clearly
Nurdulat Abil'gazin.
Zenon Drejer on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 9 - 0.
