RiSiNg 0 - 10 Grilled

e weather was pretty good, and a crowd of 12000 had shown up at RiSiNg SuN StAdIuM for the match. Kimmo Sana was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Thankred Schatze and Hans-Guenther Lindekugel. A 4-4-2 alignment was the formation of choice for RiSiNg. Starters: Dong Wan - bin Mohd Nor, Kian Woon, bin Ishak, Jian Lee - bin Sulong, Wen Hock, bin Durum, Wai Da - bin Soimpon, Mahalingam.

Grilled decided to use a 2-5-3 set up. The following players took the field: Stacey - 俊桂 (Jungui), Madaini - Shaahee, bin Jantan, 尊文 (Zunwen) , 长春 (Changchun), Djekshenkulov - bin Mohd Kassim, 勇航 (Yonghang) , Ying Lee.

The visiting Chow Ying Lee was booed thoroughly by the home crowd 15 minutes into the game, after he broke through the middle and scored, resulting in the visitors taking the lead. 0 - 1 was the score. With 16 minutes played, Grilled put themselves up 0 - 2 after an attack from the right, caused by a defensive blunder. The scorer was Qassem Madaini. After 17 minutes, Grilled sent a free kick in high over the penalty box. In what looked like a well-rehearsed move, the ball was headed backwards and reached Abdul bin Jantan, who had plenty of space to place a well aimed shot - 0 - 3. Confident in their lead, Grilled's players relaxed and focused more on defending the lead than increasing it. The visitors' Chow Ying Lee took advantage of a misunderstanding between the home side's goalie and centre backs 27 minutes into the match. 0 - 4 for Grilled. After 39 minutes a combination in the middle resulted in a through ball for Qassem Madaini who increased Grilled's lead to 0 - 5. 0 - 5 was the score after the first half. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Grilled, with an impressive 84 percent of the ball.

The home keeper was stunned 49 minutes into the match when he misjudged the free kick by Qassem Madaini and dived in the wrong direction. The visitors increased the lead to 0 - 6. By then Qassem Madaini had scored three goals - a hat trick! After 51 minutes, Grilled's 朱 (Zhu) 长春 (Changchun) burst through the central defence and let loose a cannonball of a shot, scoring for 0 - 7. After 60 minutes, an incisive pass through the middle gave Chow Ying Lee a chance to increase the lead for Grilled, and he did not disappoint. The score was then 0 - 8. This third goal completed a hattrick for Chow Ying Lee. A drive down the left side allowed Abdul bin Jantan to get in close and score another goal for Grilled after 63 minutes, taking the score to 0 - 9. After 77 minutes, a mistake by the home side's left defence allowed Mohd Safri bin Mohd Kassim to get through. He outclassed the home side's keeper, adding another goal for the visitors. 0 - 10. The Grilled players could smell victory in the air. Seytek Djekshenkulov wasn't in a hurry to leave the field as he was substituted for Paolo Iten after 89 minutes. Grilled's Abdul bin Jantan wanted to play on, but 89 minutes into the game the decision was made to substitute him for Alex Fonseca. Possession in this half belonged to Grilled, who controlled the ball 85 percent of the time.

RiSiNg's top performer was clearly Lim Wai Da. However, Neo Dong Wan made a disastrous appearance. Mohd Safri bin Mohd Kassim performed admirably for Grilled. On the other hand, Paolo Iten's play was disheartening. The match ends 0 - 10.
