Kwok Finds Malta
Gifted Chicken Wings winger Kwok Beng Ah may not have commanded a hefty transfer fee, but it was more than made up by his destination - Maltese Kampjonat Premier club and former national cup champions Maltezos, who for a mere S$74 004 have acquired one of the Wings' best-ever wide men.
Niculae Stanca was surprised at the depressed transfer price, though Kwok had no lack of suitors; While Team FA 2011 again displayed early interest, they were soon lost in the pack, with TROJAKI (English Division Six), Bonobeach (French Division Eight), nr9 (Dutch Division Seven), Passaajat (Finnish Division Eight), BSI United (Danish Division Six), Randys Giants (Swiss Division Eight) and olimpyia (Italian Division Eight) all in the mix.
There was no doubt in Kwok's mind where he was bound for once Maltezos came in, though, having just watched the national U-20 side draw 1-1 with their Maltese counterparts on television together with Grilled's younger set last Friday. "It's unbelievable that I can potentially be part of a championship-winning team." he spluttered.
