Grilled 4 - 0 The Lions
031 punters turned up at The Cooking Pot, and despite threatening clouds on the horizon, no rain came.
Stefano Larocca was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Silvestro Marzo and
Arvids Purvitis. Grilled tactics involved an interesting 2-5-3 combination. Lineup: Stacey - Tzonkov, Madaini - Iten, bin Jantan, 尊文 (Zunwen) , 长春 (Changchun), Djekshenkulov - bin Mohd Kassim, 勇航 (Yonghang) , Ying Lee.
The Lions started off with a 4-5-1 lineup. Starters: Fu Liang - Carn, bin Shariff, Dong Shun, bin Saidi - 子佑 (Ziyou), 新龙 (Xinlong), Sinha, Abu Salim, Kim How - Puay Wen.
Grilled used their ability to concentrate their attacks in the middle of the pitch, rather than on the wings. The Lions clearly preferred using their ability to attack in the middle.
Mohd Safri bin Mohd Kassim caused the crowd to go mental with his goal up the middle after 7 minutes. This gave Grilled the 1 - 0 lead. The referee showed Grilled's
Abdul bin Jantan the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. A loud groan was heard from the fans of The Lions, as
罗 (Luo) 子佑 (Ziyou) left the pitch in too much pain to finish the match.
Mudzar bin Abu Bakar took his place on the field. A magnificent combination in the middle resulted in Grilled's
Chow Ying Lee putting the lead up to 2 - 0. By now, the players in Grilled felt that victory was guaranteed and began to play it safe, focusing on defence and not risking too much going forward. Things were going to get worse for the visitors.
Paolo Iten squirmed himself through their central defence after 36 minutes, bringing the lead to 3 - 0. Halftime score was 3 - 0. Grilled enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 54 percent of possession.
Grilled put themselves up 4 - 0 when
Paolo Iten broke through on the right, leaving the entire defensive box behind him. The Lions players heard their coach's words ringing in their ears and steered their wing attacks to the middle instead.
Slavcho Tzonkov had a fantastic opportunity to put Grilled up another goal 74 minutes into the match, but he fired just over the crossbar. Content with how the game was proceeding, the Grilled coach let
林 (Lin) 俊桂 (Jungui) replace
Slavcho Tzonkov after 75 minutes.
田 (Tian) 勇航 (Yonghang) 's fine footwork caused nothing but headaches for
Andrew Carn. The keeper wasn't fooled however, and confidently scooped up the ball. The Lions had a good opportunity to attack on the wing, but remembered their instructions to go for middle attacks. Many in the crowd felt the referee was being too lenient when he only showed Grilled's
Paolo Iten a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 83 minutes into the game. The coach of Grilled was happy with the game so far, but still wanted to change the line up. After 88 minutes,
Alex Fonseca came on for
卢 (lu) 尊文 (Zunwen) . As
田 (Tian) 勇航 (Yonghang) was substituted 88 minutes into the game, he could take comfort in the fact that his team was in the lead.
唐 (Tang) 恒才 (Hengcai) was the replacement. Grilled held the ball, with a clear 54 percent of possession.
Grilled's top performer was clearly
Chow Ying Lee.
Paolo Iten on the other hand, had a terrible day. Most important The Lions player was
Venkata-Giri Sinha. However,
Au Kim How made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 4 - 0.
