Grilled clearly preferred using their ability to attack in the middle. Edbe's Julião Arara was dominating his wing and kept sending fine balls into the opposition's box - Eduardo Rodal managed to volley one of them into the net to make it 0 - 1 after 2 minutes. There wasn't much opportunity for rapid movements on this wet day, which hindered Chow Ying Lee in particular. With 15 minutes played, Grilled's Mohd Safri bin Mohd Kassim found an opening in the visitors' left side defence, but his shot was handled easily by the keeper. A drive on the left side allowed Edbe's Giovanni Vrencev to get in close and score a goal after 20 minutes, leading to 0 - 2. At this point, it was obvious that the players of Edbe lowered the tempo and became more defensively oriented. It was obvious that team Grilled had instructions to attack in the middle when they choose to try attacking in the center instead of on the wing. The home side worked hard to get through the middle and as a result, had a good chance of getting one back as Rosendo Chinchay tried lifting the ball over keeper 庞 (Pang) 轩晶 (Xuanjing). Unfortunately, the ball went just over the bar. Many in the crowd felt the referee was being too lenient when he only showed Grilled's Seytek Djekshenkulov a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 28 minutes into the game. 34 minutes into the game, Edbe's Giovanni Vrencev surprised the visitors with a raking cross-field pass to Eduardo Rodal who easily found the back of the net, bringing the score to 0 - 3. Grilled refused to be intimidated and, breaking through the middle, Mohd Safri bin Mohd Kassim managed to slip the ball home for 1 - 3. Grilled reduced the lead to 2 - 3 with 38 minutes on the clock when Seytek Djekshenkulov got the best of a ball floated in from the left. Halftime score was 2 - 3. Edbe enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 51 percent of possession.

After 48 minutes, a mistake by the home side's left defence allowed Abdul Samad bin Shaari to get through. He outclassed the home side's keeper, adding another goal for the visitors. 2 - 4. 68 minutes in, Grilled's Alex Fonseca received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. Mohd Safri bin Mohd Kassim sailed high above the opponents as he headed the 3 - 4 goal in on a corner kick from Paolo Iten after 74 minutes of play. The crowd was on its feet 81 minutes into the match, as Grilled's 卢 (lu) 尊文 (Zunwen) found himself unmarked in front of the goal after a dash up the left side. He calmly put away the 4 - 4 equaliser. After 86 minutes, Edbe put themselves up by 4 - 5, as Diedrich Bohrenkämper finished off a strike from the left with a real cannon placed at the far post. With 87 minutes having been played, Grilled scored to make it 5 - 5. A dribble down the left wing, followed by a shot which took a wicked bounce off a defender resulted in the keeper having no chance. Everyone thought it'd been an own goal, but Alex Fonseca was marked down as the scorer. With the scoreboard clock showing 87 minutes, the inexperienced Grilled team fell into disarray. The Edbe free kick 87 minutes into the match seemed wasted, as the shot was both short and off target. But there was an idea to it - the misdirected ball was turned into a cross towards Diedrich Bohrenkämper, who was waiting for it in the box. That's 5 - 6! This half belonged to Edbe, who controlled the ball 51 percent of the time.

Grilled's best player was Mohd Safri bin Mohd Kassim. On the other hand, Rosendo Chinchay's play was disheartening. Edbe's top performer was clearly 庞 (Pang) 轩晶 (Xuanjing). Chetan Bangara turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 5 - 6.
