Grilled 3 - 0 CCP
e weather was pretty good, and a crowd of 31957 had shown up at The Cooking Pot for the match.
Cristian Mejía was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Tim Breukers and
Zaccaria Cipriani. Grilled had chosen a strategic 2-5-3 formation. The following players had been chosen: Stacey - 俊桂 (Jungui), Madaini - Iten, bin Jantan, Fonseca, 长春 (Changchun), Djekshenkulov - bin Mohd Kassim, 勇航 (Yonghang) , Ying Lee.
A 3-5-2 alignment was the formation of choice for CCP. The following players took the field: Vollaers - bin Saidi, Rambli, Loong Dong - Aik Leng, Chang De, bin Abu Bakar, Yew Yeng, Boon Min - Noriega, Wee Kiong.
Grilled clearly preferred using their ability to attack in the middle. Counter-attacking seemed to be the preferred strategy of CCP. Grilled could have put themselves ahead after 6 minutes but
朱 (Zhu) 长春 (Changchun) missed a volley shot on a ball coming in from the right. Many in the crowd felt the referee was being too lenient when he only showed Grilled's
Qassem Madaini a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 16 minutes into the game. Grilled took the lead, 1 - 0, after a penalty 17 minutes into the match.
Paolo Iten scored from the penalty spot. After 36 minutes,
Paolo Iten sent the corner kick right to
Seytek Djekshenkulov who headed it sharply past the keeper. 2-0! 2 - 0 was the halftime score. Grilled claimed to be the more dominant force in the game, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 56 percent.
A speedy charge from the left side of the field increased Grilled's lead to 3 - 0 as
Chow Ying Lee finished it off competently, firing from an acute angle. At this point, it was obvious that the players of Grilled lowered the tempo and became more defensively oriented. It was obvious that team Grilled had instructions to attack in the middle when they choose to try attacking in the center instead of on the wing.
朱 (Zhu) 长春 (Changchun) had a fantastic opportunity to put Grilled up another goal 80 minutes into the match, but he fired just over the crossbar. With 81 minutes played,
Abdul bin Jantan could have brought this one home for Grilled as he charged up on the left, but his hooked ball went just a bit too high. With the clock showing 82 minutes played, a great pass from the defensive line of CCP resulted in a counterattack that was smoothly brought under control by
Wong Chang De in the centre of the opposition's penalty area, but his finish went high. CCP's
Iskandar Zulkernain bin Saidi refused to leave the field after injuring his achilles tendon after 84 minutes. This half belonged to Grilled, who controlled the ball 55 percent of the time.
Grilled's best player was
Mohd Safri bin Mohd Kassim. On the other hand,
Seytek Djekshenkulov's play was disheartening. Most important CCP player was
Wong Chang De.
Bernie Vollaers turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 3 - 0.
