Grilled 0 - 2 Arrogancae
557 spectators arrived at The Cooking Pot, where weather conditions were pretty good for football.
Wienus Knaap was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Nasser Hujayrah and
Magnus Strand. Grilled decided to use a 2-5-3 set up. Lineup: Stacey - Chinchay, Lefébure - Back, 长春 (Changchun), Fonseca, Djekshenkulov, Dorogan - bin Mohd Kassim, 勇航 (Yonghang) , Ying Lee.
Arrogancae tactics involved an interesting 4-5-1 combination. The following players had been chosen: Cazzulati - Geisler, bin Kassim, Loinaz, Poeschl - Álvarez Collado, Jing Wei, bin Ahman, 云滨 (Yunbin), Schouby - Niurnaitis.
It seemed as though Arrogancae considered the game won before even taking the field, which resulted in a very uninspired start to the game. Grilled clearly preferred using their ability to attack in the middle. Arrogancae immediately set off using their skill at pressing their opponents. Players in team Grilled heard their coach's words ringing in their ears and steered their wing attacks to the middle instead. It was 0 - 0 at the break. This half belonged to Grilled, who controlled the ball 61 percent of the time.
Arrogancae may have been expecting an easier match today, but at half time the scoreline was still even. After a good talking to by the coach at half time, much of this complacency was washed away. With 71 minutes played, the visitors broke through on the right after some poor defending.
Darmantas Niurnaitis put the ball away for 0 - 1. The referee showed Grilled's
Chow Ying Lee the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. After 83 minutes, Arrogancae's
Shaiful Bahri bin Ahman fell awkwardly, but was determined to stay in the match. Grilled had to make a substitution after 87 minutes.
Erik Back limped off the field and was replaced by
Edvaldo Mourão. When
Chow Ying Lee made yet another studs-first tackle after 89 minutes, the referee was obliged to book the Grilled player for the second time, sending him off the pitch. After 89 minutes,
Luis Víctor Loinaz sent the corner kick right to
Thure Schouby who headed it sharply past the keeper. 0-2! Arrogancae's players now seemed to think the job was done and acted more defensively, just waiting for the ref to blow the final whistle. Grilled claimed to be the more dominant force in the game, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 61 percent.
Mohd Safri bin Mohd Kassim performed admirably for Grilled.
Yvan Lefébure was a disappointment, however. Arrogancae's top performer was clearly
Darmantas Niurnaitis.
Dieter Geisler turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 0 - 2.
