CCP 2 - 1 Grilled

336 spectators had come to See Mee Lan Park this cloudy day. Hanß Schwerdtner was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Iwan van Grunsven and Sami Svensk. CCP decided to use a ‭2-5-3‬ set up. The following players had been chosen: Vollaers - Barilari, Hollerbach - Aik Leng, bin Abu Bakar, Yew Yeng, bin Mamud, Daday - Wee Kiong, Sans, Bottino.

A ‭5-2-3‬ alignment was the formation of choice for Grilled. Starters: Stacey - Ross, Crkvenjakov, Madaini, 俊桂 (Jungui), Tzonkov - 长春 (Changchun), Djekshenkulov - bin Mohd Kassim, 勇航 (Yonghang) , Ying Lee.

Using their counter-attacking abilities was the strategy of choice for Grilled on this day. Ng Wee Kiong fired a shot from distance after 11 minutes, but the long shot couldn't find the net for CCP. CCP broke through on the left 22 minutes into the game, with Giuseppe Bottino firing in from an acute angle to give the home side a 1 - 0 lead. The referee showed Grilled's 田 (Tian) 勇航 (Yonghang) the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. Bernie Vollaers was the unlucky victim and couldn't continue the game, so CCP's Sebastian Schmidt had to come off the bench. After 29 minutes, a couple of quick and successful challenges followed by a shot from just outside the penalty area by Zulharisan bin Mamud might have resulted in another goal for CCP. However, Dexter Stacey made a spectacular save. Things were deteriorating for the away team as CCP scored another to make it 2 - 0 after a left side attack resulted in a goal for Ng Wee Kiong after 34 minutes. 2 - 0 was the score after the first half. This half belonged to CCP, who controlled the ball 76 percent of the time.

CCP put in a good effort on the right, but Quirze Sans saw his volley fly wide of the mark 54 minutes into the game. CCP's Quirze Sans swung in a good chance from the left, but the visitors' defence were able to clear the ball. Grilled bypassed the midfield with their counterattack, leading to a free kick goal by Qassem Madaini for 2 - 1. The home side's Giuseppe Bottino came close to extending the lead 76 minutes into the game. His shot came in from the right hand side but Dexter Stacey managed to save it with an unbelievable reaction stop. The bench was restless, and in the 88th minute Grilled's coach gave Gleb Dorogan the opportunity the player had been hoping for. 朱 (Zhu) 长春 (Changchun) reluctantly left the field. Grilled needed a fresh pair of legs on the field, and after 88 minutes Qassem Madaini made way for Björn Olsson. As Philipp Hollerbach was substituted 88 minutes into the game, he could take comfort in the fact that his team was in the lead. Ibrahim Rambli was the replacement. CCP claimed to be the more dominant force in the game, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 79 percent.

Most important CCP player was Ng Wee Kiong. However, Sebastian Schmidt made a disastrous appearance. Grilled's best player was Mohd Safri bin Mohd Kassim. On the other hand, Björn Olsson's play was disheartening. The match ends 2 - 1.
