Grilled used their ability to concentrate their attacks in the middle of the pitch, rather than on the wings. For their match strategy, ArseVikings had decided to use their ability to counter-attack whenever possible. Johan Wallen didn't let the weather get him down and made some great moves on the pitch in spite of the rain. It was a bad day for the usually speedy Tim Metzler. The mud seemed to slow him down. Abilio Cabana de Bergantiños suddenly found himself completely free on the right wing, when a counterattack by ArseVikings caught their opponents by surprise. Only a great save by the opposing keeper prevented him from scoring. Despite having a free kick in a decent position 23 minutes in, Grilled tried a variation that brought the ball through to the other end of the penalty area. However, Chow Ying Lee did not manage to connect with it, as his team mates had hoped, and the ball went out. ArseVikings almost scored after a counterattack 24 minutes into the match, but Tim Metzler took a shot from the left that landed harmlessly in the side of the net. Many in the crowd felt the referee was being too lenient when he only showed Grilled's 林 (Lin) 俊桂 (Jungui) a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 25 minutes into the game. Halftime score was 0 - 0. Grilled claimed to be the more dominant force in the game, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 62 percent.

With 49 minutes played Domenik Bögengang almost gave the home side the lead with an unexpected free kick set up, but the visitors' Otaviano Marques was onto it, grabbing the would be breakthrough ball. ArseVikings's Wilhelm Kita got himself booked for a foul. The forty-five minutes were dominated by Grilled, with an impressive 60 percent possession of the ball.

Grilled's top performer was clearly Domenik Bögengang. Gleb Dorogan on the other hand, had a terrible day. ArseVikings's best player was Johan Wallen. On the other hand, Tim Metzler's play was disheartening. The match ends 0 - 0.
