Changi 0 - 4 Grilled

e weather was pretty good, and a crowd of 66000 had shown up at Changi Genius Arena for the match. Alexander MacArthur was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Andy Christiaens and Gelindo Pacella. Changi decided to use a ‭3-5-2‬ set up. Lineup: Sapir - bin Kunju Mohamad, Cevaal, bin Zainal - 泽荣 (Zerong) , Turpin, Cabrito, Salinas Mila, bin Hussain - Rusanu, Petricã.

A ‭3-4-3‬ alignment was the formation of choice for Grilled. They fielded: Dias Paes - Crkvenjakov, 俊桂 (Jungui), Behr - Back, Pujolràs, Lefébure, Dorogan - bin Mohd Kassim, Bögengang, Ying Lee.

For their match strategy, Grilled had decided to use their ability to counter-attack whenever possible. After 9 minutes Chow Ying Lee made a speedy advance and dropped the ball to Mohd Safri bin Mohd Kassim who shuffled it past the keeper. The score was now 0 - 1. The referee signalled a penalty 23 minutes into the game following an offence just inside of the box. Domenik Bögengang knocked home the 0 - 2 goal just outside the reach of the goalkeeper. The home crowd cheered when, after 37 minutes, Chow Ying Lee's charge up the middle resulted in the keeper making one of his best saves of the day. Changi's Georgel Petricã was shown a yellow card after 38 minutes for slicing down an opponent. Grilled were forced to a substitution as Mohd Safri bin Mohd Kassim couldn't continue playing due to the rough treatment, forcing 范 (Fan) 修宇 (Xiuyu) to come in from the sidelines. It was 0 - 2 at the break. The forty-five minutes were dominated by Changi, with an impressive 58 percent possession of the ball.

Unhappy with the result so far in the game, the Changi manager used a brief break in play after 55 minutes to give the players new directives. An amazing free kick flew past the home side keeper 55 minutes into the match, putting Grilled ahead with the 0 - 3 goal. Domenik Bögengang was the scorer. At this point, it was obvious that the players of Grilled lowered the tempo and became more defensively oriented. The Changi coach was desperate to reverse his team's fortunes in the game, and ordered his team to change strategy. After 70 minutes, Changi used a short break in the game to take new instructions from their coach. Having just succeeded in blocking a dangerous counter attack, the defending team was outwitted by the follow-up Grilled free kick. The combination was expertly executed as the ball shifted quickly to one side of the box, then back to the other. Ronny Behr appeared on cue near the post, and steered it past the goalie. 0 - 4, after 74 minutes. Many in the crowd felt the referee was being too lenient when he only showed Grilled's Yvan Lefébure a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 80 minutes into the game. This half belonged to Changi, who controlled the ball 59 percent of the time.

Changi's best player was Mugurel Rusanu. 陈 (Chen) 泽荣 (Zerong) was a disappointment, however. Grilled's top performer was clearly Domenik Bögengang. Gleb Dorogan turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 0 - 4.
