Grilled 4 - 1 Arrogancae
e weather was pretty good, and a crowd of 77001 had shown up at The Cooking Pot for the match.
Gavin Jones was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Damian Sochaczyński and
Karl Schmidi. A 3-4-3 alignment was the formation of choice for Grilled. The following players took the field: Dias Paes - Crkvenjakov, Behr, Mausisa - Back, Kim, Lefébure, Dorogan - bin Mohd Kassim, Bögengang, Ying Lee.
Arrogancae had chosen a strategic 5-3-2 formation. Lineup: Platschka - Rupieper, Waterman, bin Che Lah, Loinaz, Rovira - Martiskin, Vuokila, MacKay - Milašević, Niurnaitis.
Grilled were relying on their ability to counter-attack. Arrogancae clearly had decided to counter-attack when they could. They were singing the praises of
Kyou-Chull Kim 7 minutes into the match after his speculative chip from just outside the centre part of the opponent's penalty area found its way over the visitors keeper to make the score 1 - 0 for Grilled. After 11 minutes Arrogancae's
Teemu Martiskin limped slightly after a late challenge, but he was able to continue. The visitors kept the pressure on to tie the game when, after 13 minutes,
Radivoje Milašević broke through the centre and found himself alone with the keeper.
Valdir Dias Paes made a great block, though. Arrogancae had to make a substitution after 17 minutes.
Simeon Rupieper limped off the field and was replaced by
Cornelus van Schie.
Domenik Bögengang struck a 30 metre free kick home 22 minutes into the match. 2 - 0 for the home team. After 28 minutes, there was a bit of a mixup on the field as Arrogancae found themselves out of position and their organization level dropped to
passable. The goal to make it 2 - 1 was scored by
Radivoje Milašević after 31 minutes, following an opportunistic counterattack down the middle by Arrogancae. The teams went for the halftime break at 2 - 1. Grilled claimed to be the more dominant force in the game, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 63 percent.
A review of the gameplan helped Arrogancae get back to a
solid organization when the referee blew his whistle again. Cheers filled the stadium as
Domenik Bögengang broke through the visitors' central defence to put away the 3 - 1 goal for Grilled. As
Kyou-Chull Kim was substituted 75 minutes into the game, he could take comfort in the fact that his team was in the lead.
Anders Josefsson was the replacement. 79 minutes into the game, Arrogancae seemed a little tentative in their play as their organization fell to
inadequate.
Chow Ying Lee almost managed to score another goal for Grilled, coming from the right, but his header was tipped to a corner by the visitors' keeper. The corner kick from
Domenik Bögengang set
Yvan Lefébure up perfectly, as he soared to meet the ball, heading it in for 4 - 1. After this, you could see that the players of Grilled were more interested in killing time than scoring more goals. Grilled's
Yvan Lefébure had an excellent opportunity after 89 minutes, shooting on a through ball down the right hand side, but he missed the goal by miles! This half belonged to Grilled, who controlled the ball 64 percent of the time.
The most dominating Grilled player was without a doubt
Domenik Bögengang.
Erik Back turned in a dismal performance, however.
Heikki Vuokila performed admirably for Arrogancae. However,
Cornelus van Schie made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 4 - 1.
