Grilled's 0 - 1 goal came on a questionable penalty, but Domenik Bögengang struck that one home without a second thought. 13 minutes into the match, Sentosa's Frédéric Menzinger maneuvered his way around the opposition on the left flank, delighting the crowd with his twists and turns. The effort paid off as the ball found the back of the net, evening the score at 1 - 1. Sentosa created a good opportunity to score 17 minutes into the match when Frédéric Menzinger's hooked ball from the left created a scuffle in front of the goal, and the visitors' defenders had a hard time clearing the ball. The teams went for the halftime break at 1 - 1. Sentosa enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 56 percent of possession.

The fierce heat made it important to save breath, and after a few swift runs Safri bin Mohamad found it hard to get back into position. 60 minutes into the game, Grilled wanted to bring some new energy to their game. Kyou-Chull Kim gave Anders Josefsson a quick hug as he left the field. Erik Back would have preferred to play on, but his coach decided otherwise. Ciro Penati entered the game for Grilled as the match clock showed 60 minutes. After a fine move down the middle Florestan Grau nearly gave the home side a goal after 69 minutes. The finishing shot went just wide, though. After 70 minutes, the defensive line of Grilled created a counterattack through the middle that gave Mohd Safri bin Mohd Kassim a good look at the goal, but his shot glanced harmlessly off the crossbar. Many in the crowd felt the referee was being too lenient when he only showed Grilled's Ronny Behr a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 71 minutes into the game. The Sentosa player who had to be helped off the pitch, was Roberto Gaona as he was unable to finish the game. 齐 (Qi) 综山 (Zongshan) came in to finish the match. 75 minutes had elapsed when a great chance for Sentosa to take the lead after a good centering pass from the right found Antti Savitaipale alone with the keeper, but he chipped it to the wrong side of the post. Central attacks were the recipe of the day for team Sentosa, and they were successfully passing the ball from the wing into the middle to get them on. Making his way up the middle 77 minutes into the match, Florestan Grau almost managed to squeeze a goal past the visitors' keeper, but the alert Valdir Dias Paes blocked it to keep the score level. Mohd Zaharul Aiman bin Mokhtar was called on to replace Sentosa's Gabrijel Perović after 84 minutes following a nasty collision. The sunny day didn't make things easy for Menachem Abud who didn't seem his usual powerful self on the pitch. Players in team Sentosa heard their coach's words ringing in their ears and steered their wing attacks to the middle instead. The forty-five minutes were dominated by Sentosa, with an impressive 57 percent possession of the ball.

Most important Sentosa player was Florestan Grau. Mohd Zaharul Aiman bin Mokhtar on the other hand, had a terrible day. Grilled's top performer was clearly Domenik Bögengang. Roberto Mausisa turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 1 - 1.
