Munich 0 - 4 Grilled
ercast weather free of rain made for a crowd turnout of 2388 at Criwi671 memorial stadium today.
Fatih Beydilli was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Indi Vanriet and
Tore 'Torden' Nørgård. Munich had chosen a strategic 5-4-1 formation. The following players had been chosen: Sanders - Rissling, Rumian, Weingessl, Klitzing, Crosnier - Sigwald, Elmshorn, Ballack, Leppert - Mezzasalma.
Grilled decided to use a 2-5-3 set up. Lineup: Silvera - Chuan Heng, bin Yaacob - Penati, Kim, Back, Mourão, Han Kok - 勇航 (Yonghang) , bin Mohamad, 修宇 (Xiuyu).
For their match strategy, Munich had decided to use their ability to counter-attack whenever possible. The guests took the lead 2 minutes into the match, after a right-side attack resulted in
Ciro Penati scoring the 0 - 1 goal. The home crowd cheered when, after 5 minutes,
Ciro Penati's charge up the middle resulted in the keeper making one of his best saves of the day. Munich often look to exploit their counterattacking skills, unfortunately,
Ken Mezzasalma's shot sailed wide after his break down the right.
Erik Back was, after 14 minutes, almost able to extend the visitors' lead with a well placed diving header after the ball had looped into the centre, but home side's keeper
Egidius Sanders made the save.
田 (Tian) 勇航 (Yonghang) of Grilled displayed some of his fantastic technical abilities when he brought the ball down neatly using his instep before nutmegging the bewildered
Olav Klitzing and smashing an unstoppable shot past the goalkeeper to make it 0 - 2. A thrilling play through the middle 23 minutes into the match gave Grilled's
田 (Tian) 勇航 (Yonghang) a chance to increase the lead, and he did not disappoint. The score was then 0 - 3. After this, you could see that the players of Grilled were more interested in killing time than scoring more goals. 24 minutes into the game, Grilled seemed to suffer a certain amount of confusion and they fell to a
passable level of organization.
Dimitri Crosnier's lack of experience almost gave Grilled a goal after 29 minutes, but the shot went right into the keeper's arms. Munich's
Jens Ballack managed a superb strike from the left after 34 minutes that would have left goalkeeper
Alvaro Silvera without a chance, had it not hit the post.
Safri bin Mohamad came close to extending the visitors' lead when he found himself completely unmarked in front of the goal after a pass through the middle, but he lifted the ball over
Egidius Sanders and it was a little too high and hit the bar. The referee showed Munich's
Henning Sigwald the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. 0 - 3 was the halftime score. Grilled claimed to be the more dominant force in the game, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 69 percent.
A review of the gameplan helped Grilled get back to a
solid organization when the referee blew his whistle again. The bench was restless, and in the 46th minute Munich's coach gave
Alf Løkken the opportunity the player had been hoping for.
Otto Weingessl reluctantly left the field. Munich needed a fresh pair of legs on the field, and after 46 minutes
Olav Klitzing made way for
Fritz Uwe Kohlhuber. 60 minutes into the match,
Lim Chuan Heng came through the middle and almost added to his team's lead, but the shot went wide. After 72 minutes, a mistake by the home side's left defence allowed
Ciro Penati to get through. He outclassed the home side's keeper, adding another goal for the visitors. 0 - 4. 80 minutes into the game, Grilled worked the left side industriously creating several opportunities to add to their lead, but just couldn't apply the finishing touch. After several obvious shirt pulling incidents, Munich's
Ismail Leppert got himself booked. This half belonged to Grilled, who controlled the ball 71 percent of the time.
Dimitri Crosnier performed admirably for Munich. However,
Eugeniusz Rumian made a disastrous appearance. Grilled's best player was
Erik Back. On the other hand,
Mohd Firdaus bin Yaacob's play was disheartening. The match ends 0 - 4.
