Grilled 2 - 0 soccerid
scorching day at The Cooking Pot, where 60429 spectators were in place for today's match.
Bernard Desmidt was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Dorian Baudrey and
Pat Bartz. Grilled tactics involved an interesting 3-4-3 combination. They fielded: Dias Paes - Crkvenjakov, Behr, Mausisa - Back, Josefsson, Lefébure, Dorogan - bin Mohd Kassim, Bögengang, Ying Lee.
soccerid decided to use a 3-4-3 set up. Lineup: Casarini - Myran, La Malfa, Dix - Widl, 琨明 (Kunming) , Astilla, Wallwork - Spiaggione, Heinsohn, Keong Meng.
It was an obvious ambition of Grilled to use their ability at attacking on the flanks. soccerid mostly ignored the flanks in favour of their ability to attack in the middle. The defenders were clearly outwitted by Grilled after 3 minutes. The disciplined free kick combination shifted the ball quickly to one side of the box, then back to the other.
Mohd Safri bin Mohd Kassim appeared on cue near the post, and steered it past the goalie. 1 - 0. With 16 minutes played,
蔡 (Cai) 琨明 (Kunming) came in from the right and could have had the tying goal, but the defenders successfully repelled the attack by soccerid. With 23 minutes played, the visitors could have scored the tying goal after
Roberto Astilla came through the middle, but his kick went wide. Grilled put themselves up 2 - 0 when
Mohd Safri bin Mohd Kassim broke through on the right, leaving the entire defensive box behind him. It was 2 - 0 at the break. This half belonged to Grilled, who controlled the ball 54 percent of the time.
The Grilled players could smell victory in the air.
Erik Back wasn't in a hurry to leave the field as he was substituted for
Ciro Penati after 46 minutes. Grilled's
Anders Josefsson wanted to play on, but 60 minutes into the game the decision was made to substitute him for
Kyou-Chull Kim.
Domenik Bögengang should probably have put his team up another goal after 81 minutes, but some great goalkeeping by
Donatello Casarini kept the visitors in the game. The visitors got a chance to pulling one back after 88 minutes, due to a defensive blunder leaving
Tan Keong Meng completely unmarked. His strike was pathetic though, easy prey for the home side's keeper.
Tan Keong Meng nearly reduced 89 minutes into the game, but a splendid one-handed save by
Valdir Dias Paes put a stop to the attempt coming in from the right flank. Possession of the ball saw an equal split between the teams during the forty-five minutes.
Most important Grilled player was
Domenik Bögengang.
Ciro Penati was a disappointment, however. soccerid's top performer was clearly
Anton Heinsohn.
Donatello Casarini on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 2 - 0.
