Grilled were relying on their ability to counter-attack. newbies mostly ignored the flanks in favour of their ability to attack in the middle. 5 minutes into the game, Roshadi bin Che Rusli had a great chance to put his team ahead, but his kick from the left went wide. Grilled had a chance to take the lead on Mohd Safri bin Mohd Kassim's dazzling drive up the left, but the opportunity fizzled away as his shot went just over the bar after 12 minutes. A well placed corner kick from Domenik Bögengang was followed by Mohd Safri bin Mohd Kassim's hard but accurate header. The nice combination marked a goal for Grilled, the score now 1-0. newbies's Sim Kian Eng had to watch the rest of the game from the sidelines, after twisting his ankle with 31 minutes having been played. Loh Dong Da was the replacement. The visitors kept the pressure on to tie the game when, after 38 minutes, 杨 (Yang) 弘鑫 (Hongxin) broke through the centre and found himself alone with the keeper. Valdir Dias Paes made a great block, though. 1 - 0 was the halftime score. newbies enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 65 percent of possession.

The Grilled players could smell victory in the air. Anders Josefsson wasn't in a hurry to leave the field as he was substituted for Erik Back after 46 minutes. Grilled's counterattacks were lethal to the opposing defence, allowing Erik Back to score easily from the right flank for 2 - 0. The structure of the game started to change as Grilled decided to pull back and meet their opponents in their own half. After 60 minutes Grilled's Mohd Safri bin Mohd Kassim contracted a slight foot injury, but could finish the game. Grilled played a good counterattacking move down the left 61 minutes into the match, with Björn Olsson finishing well for 3 - 0. newbies had a good opportunity to attack on the wing, but remembered their instructions to go for middle attacks. A bit later, newbies's Bogdan Hubka easily reduced to 3 - 1 after a misunderstanding in the home side's central defence. newbies claimed to be the more dominant force in the game, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 65 percent.

Grilled's top performer was clearly Domenik Bögengang. Björn Olsson on the other hand, had a terrible day. Most important newbies player was 杨 (Yang) 弘鑫 (Hongxin) . Loh Dong Da was a disappointment, however. The match ends 3 - 1.
