Twenty2 claimed to be the more dominant force in the game, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 62 percent.

Twenty2 had a good opportunity to score the lead goal but the home team's goalkeeper Valdir Dias Paes saved Quim Moraga's shot that was headed for the top corner from the right. After 82 minutes, Grilled's Ivaylo Mirchev fell awkwardly, but was determined to stay in the match. This was a good period for the visitors, with several opportunities to take the lead, particularly when Emelino Sánchez Zorrilla slipped through the defence on the right to come up alone against Valdir Dias Paes, but the home side's keeper showed his lightning reflexes. This half belonged to Twenty2, who controlled the ball 64 percent of the time.
