Kampong 1 - 0 Grilled
ear skies welcomed the 50000 spectators who had made their way to Kampong Bridge.
Christophe Desplat was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Alfonso Santolaria and
Josef Krahmer. The derby had been the talk of all week and fans of both teams could be seen throughout the stadium. Kampong started off with a 3-5-2 lineup. Lineup: Gandara - Mahmur, Ellsworth, Wickén - Hanks, Clementz, Rusu, Hansen, Knudsen - Chee Qiang, Beurskens.
Grilled tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination. The following players had been chosen: Abed-Sulaiman - Zywczyn, Bona, Fredgård - Abd Hamid, Han Kok, Spirig, Borup, Jie Siong - Kadak, Hjortlind.
20 minutes into the match, Grilled nearly took the lead, as
Jaan Kadak broke through on the right.
Ricardo Gandara made the save, however. 0 - 0 was the halftime score. The game was a stalemate so far, with possession split evenly between the teams.
57 minutes in, the referee awarded Kampong a penalty.
Bengt Wickén coolly slotted it home for a 1 - 0 lead. Many in the crowd felt the referee was being too lenient when he only showed Kampong's
Camilo Clementz a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 60 minutes into the game. The forty-five minutes were dominated by Kampong, with an impressive 55 percent possession of the ball.
Kampong's best player was
Boris Ellsworth.
Bengt Wickén turned in a dismal performance, however. Most important Grilled player was
Ahmed Abed-Sulaiman.
Bukhari Abd Hamid was a disappointment, however. The match ends 1 - 0.
