Grilled 1 - 2 Toxics
scorching day at Gamma Stadium, where 50583 spectators were in place for today's match.
Pascal Marquardt was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
José Paulo de Limeira and
Ross Raynor. Grilled started off with a 4-5-1 lineup. The following players had been chosen: Bao-Tam - Alcántara, Tuan-Mu, Kek-Tjiang, Dewilde - Dai-Lin, Tellskär, Ju-Hau, Stanton, Noor Yadah - Hjortlind.
Toxics tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination. Lineup: Chao-Fah - Siderius, Vrabie, Riucu - van Barneveld, Persson, Baena, Fiedler, Ponman - Duguid, Antonazzo.
3 minutes in, Grilled's
Ulf Hjortlind received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first.
Peter van Barneveld of Toxics received a yellow card after 8 minutes for unsportsmanlike behaviour. After 17 minutes, Toxics's
Duncan Duguid made his way through the middle and nonchalantly placed the ball out of the keeper's reach, putting the visitors up 0 - 1.
Aznan Noor Yadah made a superb strike after 19 minutes with a shot straight in front of the goal after a long ball through the middle, but one of the visitors' defenders got a foot in at the last second and warded it off for a corner. With 22 minutes played, Toxics's
Petre Vrabie fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee booked
Petre Vrabie for diving. The teams went for the halftime break at 0 - 1. The forty-five minutes were dominated by Toxics, with an impressive 60 percent possession of the ball.
Due to some great work on the right wing Grilled's
Zhan Ju-Hau was able to even the score after 55 minutes to make the score 1 - 1. With 81 minutes played, seemingly due to lack of experience,
Bernd Fiedler needlessly tripped an opponent just outside the penalty area, but the free kick that followed didn't succeed. Toxics took the lead 82 minutes into the game, scoring the 1 - 2 goal after some elegant plays down the middle.
Duncan Duguid was the scorer. 82 minutes into the game, Grilled seemed to suffer a certain amount of confusion and they fell to a
solid level of organization.
Aznan Noor Yadah didn't pace himself at all, and after a series of daring offensive runs he was too tired to help out in the defensive play. Toxics's
Gary Antonazzo made it through the home team's defence on the right hand side 84 minutes into the match. After rounding the keeper, he only had to place the ball in the unguarded goal when a defender sprang up, clearing the ball on the line. Toxics's
Bernd Fiedler got himself booked for a foul. Toxics held the ball, with a clear 61 percent of possession.
Most important Grilled player was
Asher Stanton.
Aznan Noor Yadah on the other hand, had a terrible day. Most important Toxics player was
Bengt Persson.
Duncan Duguid was a disappointment, however. The match ends 1 - 2.
