Grilled 5 - 0 Shadow
808 spectators arrived at Gamma Stadium, where weather conditions were pretty good for football.
Manuel Pozuelo was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Stefano Felasca and
Rudolf Novak. Grilled tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination. The following players had been chosen: Bao-Tam - Alcántara, Tuan-Mu, Dewilde - Dai-Lin, Ju-Hau, Stanton, Kek-Tjiang, Noor Yadah - Hjortlind, Stern.
Shadow started off with a 3-4-3 lineup. They fielded: Cheng - Bhardwaj, Eric, Young-chul - Long, Raskborg, Jansson, Lien-Ying - Hsien-Feng, Lan-Phuong, Yew-Tong.
Grilled's
Asher Stanton tried to break through in the middle repeatedly, but couldn't get past the visitors' defenders. With 27 minutes played, the home side managed to get a 1 - 0 lead as
Zhan Ju-Hau flipped the ball in after a cross from the right.
Aznan Noor Yadah's speed was clear to see after 35 minutes as he darted past his marker and struck an opening pass to
Ulf Hjortlind who scored the 2-0 goal. After 37 minutes,
Ulf Hjortlind put Grilled ahead 3 - 0 when he rose to head in a hooked ball, the result of an effort from the right side. Shadow's
Mats-Erik Jansson left the field after 38 minutes because of a nasty blow to the shin. His replacement was
Qi Jin-Ming. After an industrious effort down the middle,
Joe Stern could have closed the game off after 39 minutes, but his finishing shot hit the post. The teams went for the halftime break at 3 - 0. The forty-five minutes were dominated by Grilled, with an impressive 68 percent possession of the ball.
Stefan Raskborg nearly reduced 48 minutes into the game, but a splendid one-handed save by
Hang Bao-Tam put a stop to the attempt coming in from the right flank. The referee showed Grilled's
Lan Tuan-Mu the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. With 53 minutes played, Grilled's
Zhan Ju-Hau tried to nail the coffin shut, but his shot from the left glanced off the top of the bar to fall behind the net. Grilled were given a penalty 53 minutes into the match - neatly put away by
Johan Dewilde. 4 - 0 for the home side. After 73 minutes,
Ulf Hjortlind put Grilled ahead 5 - 0 when he rose to head in a hooked ball, the result of an effort from the right side. At that,
Ulf Hjortlind was noted down for a hat trick. The structure of the game started to change as Grilled decided to pull back and meet their opponents in their own half. Grilled held the ball, with a clear 69 percent of possession.
The most dominating Grilled player was without a doubt
Asher Stanton.
Joe Stern was a disappointment, however. Most important Shadow player was
Stefan Raskborg.
Qing Cheng was a disappointment, however. The match ends 5 - 0.
