It was obvious that Grilled were using their pressing skill as their primary tactic. Almost all the way down to the corner flag, Herron's Richard Ashton somehow managed to get a perfect pass into the middle, impossible to miss for Shu Chit-Fu, who struck for 1 - 0. Shu Chit-Fu had a fantastic opportunity to put Herron up another goal 12 minutes into the match, but he fired just over the crossbar. Herron had to manage with a reduced squad after 24 minutes, as Shu Chit-Fu got sent off for a needless foul away from the game's action. After an industrious effort down the middle, Florian Jähnisch could have closed the game off after 32 minutes, but his finishing shot hit the post. Sylweriusz Zywczyn of Grilled was booked for kicking the ball away after the whistle. After 39 minutes, a couple of quick and successful challenges followed by a shot from just outside the penalty area by Richard Ashton might have resulted in another goal for Herron. However, Ahmed Abed-Sulaiman made a spectacular save. It was 1 - 0 at the break. Herron claimed to be the more dominant force in the game, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 54 percent.

Herron put in a good effort on the right, but Florian Jähnisch saw his volley fly wide of the mark 70 minutes into the game. Grilled pressed their opponents, causing the game to be a bit of a stalemate at times. 72 minutes into the match Chen Haupai put Herron ahead 2 - 0 with a truly marvelous free kick. A magnificent combination in the middle resulted in Herron's Richard Ashton putting the lead up to 3 - 0. Confident in their lead, Herron decided to play a more defensive game at this point. Herron's Barthélémy Boulant was shown a yellow card after 78 minutes for slicing down an opponent. This half belonged to Herron, who controlled the ball 55 percent of the time.

Herron's best player was Abd Rauf Mohd Nadzir. However, Barthélémy Boulant made a disastrous appearance. Ahmed Abed-Sulaiman performed admirably for Grilled. Terkel Borup on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 3 - 0.
