Chinatown 0 - 4 Grilled
e 25127 spectators at Chinatown United Arena were in for an afternoon of sunshine.
Ben Dombai was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Roman Snopek and
Gaetano Grünebaum. Chinatown started off with a 3-5-2 lineup. Lineup: Bengtsson - Aik-Hau, Li-Jin, Guan-Xiu - Pak-Hong, Man-Chi, Wen-Zhong, Chandra, Ming-Ming - Jia-Jie, Lip-Xiang.
Grilled tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination. Lineup: Huel-sheng - bin Che Lah, Tuan-Mu, Siu-Cheung - Dai-Lin, Kek-Tjiang, Stanton, Ju-Hau, Noor Yadah - Chiew-Yen, Reed.
With 3 minutes played, seemingly due to lack of experience,
Asher Stanton needlessly tripped an opponent just outside the penalty area, but the free kick that followed didn't succeed. 11 minutes into the game,
Chen Chiew-Yen was a hair's breadth away from giving Grilled the lead with a shot from over on the left. A prompt block by
Per Bengtsson saved the home team that time. Chinatown's
Sima Pak-Hong left the field after 22 minutes because of a nasty blow to the shin. His replacement was
Berend van der Sluijs. Grilled took the lead 24 minutes into the game, scoring the 0 - 1 goal after some elegant plays down the middle.
Chen Chiew-Yen was the scorer. After several obvious shirt pulling incidents, Chinatown's
Berend van der Sluijs got himself booked. 0 - 1 was the halftime score. Grilled held the ball, with a clear 52 percent of possession.
Miguel Reed increased the visitors' lead by putting a volley shot away on a pass from the right. 0 - 2.
Chen Aik-Hau got left behind when Grilled's
Aznan Noor Yadah made a sudden pull forward after 69 minutes, finishing off with a swift strike. 0 - 3! The structure of the game started to change as Grilled decided to pull back and meet their opponents in their own half. 71 minutes into the match Grilled's
Nor Suhaimi bin Che Lah head butted an opponent nastily, and so the referee sent him off immediately.
Miao Jia-Jie challenged the visitors' central defence eagerly, producing a good chance 80 minutes into the game as he went for a through ball combination. But, as so many times before, the guests' defensive efforts got the best of it. Grilled had to make a substitution after 80 minutes.
Lan Tuan-Mu limped off the field and was replaced by
Weng Seng-Huat. After 81 minutes
Aznan Noor Yadah made a speedy advance and dropped the ball to
Chen Chiew-Yen who shuffled it past the keeper. The score was now 0 - 4. Chinatown held the ball, with a clear 52 percent of possession.
The most dominating Chinatown player was without a doubt
Aksala Chandra.
Berend van der Sluijs was a disappointment, however. Most important Grilled player was
Ma Dai-Lin.
Cheung Huel-sheng was a disappointment, however. The match ends 0 - 4.
