Anfield 0 - 3 Grilled
060 spectators had come to Anfield Reds Arena this cloudy day.
Izidor Perak was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Philip Schouby and
Len Holt. Anfield had chosen a strategic 3-4-3 formation. They fielded: Duncan - de Winter, Irhall, Tellén - Iriarte Calvo, Motley, Kootstra, Molan - Yongye, bin Rasdi, An Yi.
Grilled started off with a 4-5-1 lineup. The following players had been chosen: Abed-Sulaiman - Tuan-Mu, Bona, Falkbo, Alcántara - Borup, Rottman, Jie Siong, Kek-Tjiang, Spirig - Martinsson.
Grilled immediately set off using their skill at pressing their opponents. Grilled's ability to press their opponents all over the field paid off frequently. Grilled's
Ola Martinsson scored the 0 - 1 goal after 26 minutes by shooting accurately and hard from a long distance, leaving the opponent keeper no other option than to pick the ball out of the net. Anfield tried to even things up by sending a long play towards the centrally placed strikers, but the visitors' defence got the best of this rather direct style of play.
Lan Tuan-Mu showed why he is feared on the counterattack, scoring for Grilled after 35 minutes to make the score 0 - 2. The teams went for the halftime break at 0 - 2. Anfield claimed to be the more dominant force in the game, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 57 percent.
With 55 minutes played,
Lee Jie Siong nearly put the visitors another one up as he broke through in the middle and fired from just outside the box, but his shot passed just over the bar. Anfield had a brilliant opportunity to reply as
Tomas Irhall received a high ball from the right, striking the ball in the air. Only
Ahmed Abed-Sulaiman's reflexes saved him. Grilled's
Jörgen Falkbo received a play slashing through the home side's central defense after 86 minutes, and chipped it past the keeper to score the 0 - 3 goal. The home crowd was not pleased with that one. The structure of the game started to change as Grilled decided to pull back and meet their opponents in their own half. Anfield's
ZhangCai Yongye managed a superb strike from the left after 89 minutes that would have left goalkeeper
Ahmed Abed-Sulaiman without a chance, had it not hit the post. Anfield claimed to be the more dominant force in the game, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 58 percent.
Most important Anfield player was
Jack Motley.
Nejc Molan on the other hand, had a terrible day. The most dominating Grilled player was without a doubt
Ahmed Abed-Sulaiman.
Terkel Borup was a disappointment, however. The match ends 0 - 3.
