Grilled 1 - 2 Rogues
e to an all-day shower, 2136 paying spectators got to see a match on a pitch-turned-bog at Gamma Stadium.
Kajetan Gorawski was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Yu Kwannah and
Kostas Pantazopoulos. Grilled had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. They fielded: Semprún Balenciaga - bin Che Lah, Siu-Cheung, Sun-Nee - Seng-kar, Tellskär, Magnusson, Yew-Hoe, Pence - Chiew-Yen, Yunos.
Rogues tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination. The following players had been chosen: Carter - Dubrovskiy, Inglis, Gökalp - Rueda, Agusrianto, Johansson, Persson, Trannoy - Jonsson, Höstsjö.
Rogues's
Curro Rueda got himself booked for a foul. After 16 minutes of play,
Chai Yew-Hoe gave the home team a 1 - 0 lead after an attack coming in from the right. Grilled will have to do without
Ding Sun-Nee for a time, due to a bad foot injury at the 24 minute mark. He was substituted by
Lan Tuan-Mu. A well placed corner kick from
Mats Höstsjö was followed by
Patrik Persson's hard but accurate header. The nice combination marked a goal for Rogues, the score now 1-1.
Boris Trannoy of Rogues received a yellow card after 38 minutes for unsportsmanlike behaviour. Halftime score was 1 - 1. Rogues held the ball, with a clear 54 percent of possession.
After several obvious shirt pulling incidents, Grilled's
Gao Seng-kar got himself booked. Many thought
Rushanizam Yunos ought to have been awarded a penalty shot 50 minutes into the game, as he went down trying to dribble around
Brooks Carter after a determined run through the middle. Rogues took the lead after 64 minutes with 1 - 2.
Jan Jonsson placed the ball out of reach for the home side's keeper after a fine move, coming in from the left.
Curro Rueda was uncomfortable with the soggy pitch as he couldn't move the ball around with his usual grace. Rogues's
Mats Höstsjö missed a penalty shot 69 minutes into the contest. The shot produced was way too weak, allowing the keeper to collect it at his own leisure. Rogues held the ball, with a clear 70 percent of possession.
Grilled's best player was
Lan Tuan-Mu.
Rushanizam Yunos on the other hand, had a terrible day. The most dominating Rogues player was without a doubt
John Inglis.
Curro Rueda was a disappointment, however. The match ends 1 - 2.
