Carlos César Branco increased Catenaccio's lead to 5 - 0, putting a header away on a hooked ball from the right. By now, Catenaccio were drawing the troops back in order to defend their lead. But there was an idea to it - the misdirected ball was turned into a cross towards Andrej Tapšík, who was waiting for it in the box. That's 10 - 0! Catenaccio solidified their lead at the 77 minute mark, as Andrej Tapšík manoeuvered the ball through the opposing central defence and finished for 11 - 0. That made three goals for Andrej Tapšík and he was marked down for the hat trick. Many in the crowd felt the referee was being too lenient when he only showed Catenaccio's Mihály Koszta a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 81 minutes into the game. Catenaccio held the ball, with a clear 84 percent of possession.
