PTE 10 - 1 Grilled

ouds darkened the skies at PTE Bratislava as 4838 spectators turned up for the match. Leonard C. Häggbo was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Peter Zupcan and Attilio Neri. PTE decided to use a 3-4-3 set up. Lineup: Villaño - JaÅ¡o, Eichberger, Učeň - KeÅ¥ko, Mariot, Mironenko, Jakubča - Mul, Petrovčík, Gribovský.

A 4-4-2 alignment was the formation of choice for Grilled. Starters: Bao-Tam - 辉洪 (Huihong) , Seng-Huat, Chuan Heng, bin Selamat - 川城 (Chuancheng) , bin Mustapa, Mirchev, 剑勇 (Jianyong) - Hjortlind, bin Yaacob.

PTE's Vladimír Keťko was shown a yellow card after 10 minutes for slicing down an opponent. Some beautiful plays on the left side of the field resulted in a goal after 21 minutes by Vladimír Keťko for PTE, putting them ahead 1 - 0. PTE managed to extend their lead to 2 - 0 when Matej Jašo cut in neatly from the left side and struck a fine shot past the away team's goalkeeper. A magnificent combination in the middle resulted in PTE's Branislav Gribovský putting the lead up to 3 - 0. At this point in the game, defending their lead became the main priority for PTE. PTE solidified their lead at the 31 minute mark, as Werner Eichberger manoeuvered the ball through the opposing central defence and finished for 4 - 0. Stanislav Mironenko sailed high above the opponents as he headed the 5-0 goal in on a corner kick from Werner Eichberger after 38 minutes of play. 39 minutes into the game, PTE were awarded a penalty that Werner Eichberger turned into 6 - 0 without a problem. 6 - 0 was the score after the first half. PTE claimed to be the more dominant force in the game, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 76 percent.

Many in the crowd felt the referee was being too lenient when he only showed Grilled's 胡 (Hu) 剑勇 (Jianyong) a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 70 minutes into the game. A loud groan was heard from the fans of PTE, as Vladimír Keťko left the pitch in too much pain to finish the match. Branislav Zelina took his place on the field. Things were going to get worse for the visitors. René Mul squirmed himself through their central defence after 72 minutes, bringing the lead to 7 - 0. Morale on the visitors' bench was greatly improved when their Mohd Firdaus bin Yaacob reduced the lead to make it 7 - 1 after 76 minutes, following a pass from the right. Cheers filled the stadium as Stanislav Mironenko broke through the visitors' central defence to put away the 8 - 1 goal for PTE. PTE's Branislav Gribovský got himself booked for a foul. After 82 minutes, Stanislav Mironenko put PTE ahead 9 - 1 when he rose to head in a hooked ball, the result of an effort from the right side. By then Stanislav Mironenko was a three time scorer - a hat trick! A speedy charge from the left side of the field increased PTE's lead to 10 - 1 as Servác Petrovčík finished it off competently, firing from an acute angle. The forty-five minutes were dominated by PTE, with an impressive 70 percent possession of the ball.

PTE's top performer was clearly René Mul. Branislav Zelina on the other hand, had a terrible day. Grilled's best player was 范 (Fan) 川城 (Chuancheng) . On the other hand, Weng Seng-Huat's play was disheartening. The match ends 10 - 1.
