The home side put themselves ahead 1 - 0 after 29 minutes courtesy of a breakthrough from Arshak Demirdgiyan, who, unaided, came in from the right wing hooking the ball over the visitors' keeper. A magnificent combination in the middle resulted in Armenbrok's Arshak Demirdgiyan putting the lead up to 2 - 0. At this point in the game, defending their lead became the main priority for Armenbrok. Pedro Dinis gave Armenbrok supporters even more to cheer about when he increased the lead to 3 - 0 after 37 minutes, following a good exchange of passes on the right that the away team failed to deal with. Grilled's Weng Seng-Huat got himself booked for a foul. After 42 minutes, Armenbrok's Timo Knuutti fell awkwardly, but was determined to stay in the match. Armenbrok solidified their lead at the 43 minute mark, as Arshak Demirdgiyan manoeuvered the ball through the opposing central defence and finished for 4 - 0. That made three goals for Arshak Demirdgiyan and he was marked down for the hat trick. As Karsten Hilscher had, completely unprovoked, swept the legs out from under an opponent in front of a linesman, the referee gave the Armenbrok player a red card without batting an eyelid. 45 minutes into the match, the visitors' central line of defence had to look on as Vahan Gagigyan dashed through, knocking home 5 - 0 for Armenbrok. 5 - 0 was the halftime score. This half belonged to Armenbrok, who controlled the ball 67 percent of the time.

With 49 minutes showing on the scoreboard clock, Grilled showed some good morale and were able to reduce the score to 5 - 1 when Mohd Firdaus bin Yaacob got past the home side's central defenders right in front of the goal. Many in the crowd felt the referee was being too lenient when he only showed Armenbrok's Pedro Dinis a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 56 minutes into the game. After an industrious effort down the middle, Pedro Dinis could have closed the game off after 66 minutes, but his finishing shot hit the post. Armenbrok's Giuseppe Carino was dominating his wing and kept sending fine balls into the opposition's box - Pedro Dinis managed to volley one of them into the net to make it 6 - 1 after 72 minutes. With 72 minutes played, Armenbrok put themselves up 7 - 1 when the visiting defenders lost the ball to Timo Knuutti, who came up from the left and proceeded to coolly round the keeper and knock the ball home. 75 minutes into the match, the visitors' central line of defence had to look on as Timo Knuutti dashed through, knocking home 8 - 1 for Armenbrok. Armenbrok managed to extend their lead to 9 - 1 when Arto Odabashyan cut in neatly from the left side and struck a fine shot past the away team's goalkeeper. The forty-five minutes were dominated by Armenbrok, with an impressive 61 percent possession of the ball.
