Grilled 1 - 1 L1verpool
602 spectators arrived at The Cooking Pot, where weather conditions were pretty good for football.
Sepp Freyler was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Bjørn Bjørndal and
Faas Bouwman. Grilled had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. Lineup: Dias Paes - Talib, Lik-Tsun, Árva - Penati, Branbilla, Spirig, MacKinnon, Han Kok - Rotteveel, bin Ku Zainol.
A 4-5-1 alignment was the formation of choice for L1verpool. The following players took the field: Lee Tse - Yao An, Rahja, Tanwar, Yew-Hon - Long Yi, Chor-Wai, bin Hussain, Yun Qiang, Mahmoud - Than Tai.
Nawaz Talib gave Grilled the lead with 1 - 0, as he successfully challenged the guests' central defenders, then placed the ball unreachably at the keeper's right post. The visitors' equaliser seemed sure to come after 36 minutes, following a one on one situation around the left hand side of the goal area, but
Valdir Dias Paes got the best of it, blocking the shot from
Tuomas Rahja. The teams went for the halftime break at 1 - 0. The forty-five minutes were dominated by L1verpool, with an impressive 52 percent possession of the ball.
L1verpool tied it all up, 48 minutes in, after a spectacular goal by
Ouyang Than Tai, who miraculously broke through the home side's central defence, making it 1 - 1. Grilled could have put themselves ahead after 70 minutes but
Subri bin Ku Zainol missed a volley shot on a ball coming in from the right. With 73 minutes played, L1verpool's
Ouyang Than Tai fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee booked
Ouyang Than Tai for diving. L1verpool claimed to be the more dominant force in the game, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 52 percent.
Matthias Branbilla performed admirably for Grilled. However,
Ciro Penati made a disastrous appearance. The most dominating L1verpool player was without a doubt
Wong Yun Qiang.
Siew Yao An on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 1 - 1.
