BoogieSS 8 - 1 Grilled
e 3495 spectators at DonScalibur Den were in for an afternoon of sunshine.
Torben Detten was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Piero Perrucci and
Luis Petersen-Aust. A 3-5-2 alignment was the formation of choice for BoogieSS. Starters: Boateng - Skinderholm, Antwi, Addai - Peressotti, Sam, Obeng, Odjidja Ofoe, Mensah - Botsio, Chinebuah.
Grilled decided to use a 4-4-2 set up. The following players took the field: Bao-Tam - Deme, Seng-Huat, Tuan-Mu, åºå³° (Tingfeng) - è¾¾è£ (Darong) , Mirchev, Branbilla, Chowdhury - Hjortlind, bin Yaacob.
For their match strategy, Grilled had decided to use their ability to counter-attack whenever possible. It was a hot and sunny day, and several players seemed worn out. Maybe this was why
Tapesh Chowdhury found an unusual amount of space for his snappy footwork.
Shabazz Addai gave BoogieSS the lead with 1 - 0, as he successfully challenged the guests' central defenders, then placed the ball unreachably at the keeper's right post. Cheers filled the stadium as
George Chinebuah broke through the visitors' central defence to put away the 2 - 0 goal for BoogieSS. After 14 minutes, a well-worked counterattack by BoogieSS on the right presented an easy opportunity in front of the goal that was duly converted by
George Chinebuah to make it 3 - 0. The structure of the game started to change as BoogieSS decided to pull back and meet their opponents in their own half. Morale on the visitors' bench was greatly improved when their
Ulf Hjortlind reduced the lead to make it 3 - 1 after 40 minutes, following a pass from the right. The referee showed Grilled's
Ulf Hjortlind the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. Despite having a free kick in a decent position 41 minutes in, BoogieSS tried a variation that brought the ball through to the other end of the penalty area. However,
Joseph Mensah did not manage to connect with it, as his team mates had hoped, and the ball went out. It was 3 - 1 at the break. BoogieSS held the ball, with a clear 56 percent of possession.
With 57 minutes played, BoogieSS put themselves up 4 - 1 when the visiting defenders lost the ball to
Joseph Mensah, who came up from the left and proceeded to coolly round the keeper and knock the ball home. With 62 minutes played, BoogieSS's
Heine Skinderholm fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee booked
Heine Skinderholm for diving. After 67 minutes,
George Chinebuah put BoogieSS ahead 5 - 1 when he rose to head in a hooked ball, the result of an effort from the right side. That made three goals for
George Chinebuah and he was marked down for the hat trick. The intense heat forced
Matthias Branbilla into making some errors because he couldn't seem to keep up with the others. Things were going to get worse for the visitors.
Shabazz Addai squirmed himself through their central defence after 77 minutes, bringing the lead to 6 - 1.
George Chinebuah gave BoogieSS supporters even more to cheer about when he increased the lead to 7 - 1 after 82 minutes, following a good exchange of passes on the right that the away team failed to deal with. It was a fine day for
Joseph Mensah on his wing, his cross pass to
George Chinebuah was especially delicate 84 minutes into the game, but the keeper saved. BoogieSS's
Joseph Mensah was delighted to score the 8 - 1 goal after he saw his shot go between the legs of the advancing goalkeeper and into the net, following some good attacking movement on the right wing after 85 minutes. The forty-five minutes were dominated by BoogieSS, with an impressive 57 percent possession of the ball.
The most dominating BoogieSS player was without a doubt
Sauro Peressotti.
Enoch Antwi on the other hand, had a terrible day.
Matthias Branbilla performed admirably for Grilled.
Lan Tuan-Mu turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 8 - 1.
