Juffair 0 - 10 Grilled

was an exceptionally sunny day for the crowd of 2888 that came out to Bahrain Manama National Stadium. Miguel Yern was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Elmir Allahverdiyev and Stefano Roselli. Juffair tactics involved an interesting 4-4-2 combination. The following players took the field: Iatan - Hasan, Ismail, El-Mubarak, Rahman - Ameen, Ali, Bin-Mustafa, Abzari - Shareef, Ibn-Mukhtar.

A 3-4-3 alignment was the formation of choice for Grilled. Lineup: Bao-Tam - bin Che Lah, Tuan-Mu, Talib - van Liere, Jie Siong, Fjällbratt, Chuan Jing - Hjortlind, Mirchev, bin Yaacob.

Haddad Ali behaved like an inexperienced youth player after 11 minutes as he gave the ball away to Lim Chuan Jing. Lucky for him though, there was no goal. Grilled took the lead 13 minutes into the game, scoring the 0 - 1 goal after some elegant plays down the middle. Ulf Hjortlind was the scorer. Man, what a shot by Grilled's Ulf Hjortlind! Firing in from 35 yards after 23 minutes, that is probably going to be one of the finest, most beautiful, wonderfully crafted strikes the crowd here today are ever likely to see. 0 - 2. After 26 minutes, a mistake by the home side's left defence allowed Hidde van Liere to get through. He outclassed the home side's keeper, adding another goal for the visitors. 0 - 3. Many in the crowd felt the referee was being too lenient when he only showed Juffair's Alam Shareef a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 43 minutes into the game. A thrilling play through the middle 44 minutes into the match gave Grilled's Lee Jie Siong a chance to increase the lead, and he did not disappoint. The score was then 0 - 4. With 45 minutes played, a phenomenal play on the left side freed Mohd Firdaus bin Yaacob, of Grilled, to dash through and score another goal for the visitors. The score was then 0 - 5. At this point in the game, defending their lead became the main priority for Grilled. Halftime score was 0 - 5. This half belonged to Grilled, who controlled the ball 73 percent of the time.

After 46 minutes a combination in the middle resulted in a through ball for Ivaylo Mirchev who increased Grilled's lead to 0 - 6. After several obvious shirt pulling incidents, Grilled's Peter Fjällbratt got himself booked. The visitors' Mohd Firdaus bin Yaacob took advantage of an error due to a misunderstanding between the home side's goalie and central backs 69 minutes into the match. 0 - 7 for Grilled. The away team's Mohd Firdaus bin Yaacob took advantage of a mistake on the home side's right after 82 minutes which increased Grilled's lead to 0 - 8. By then Mohd Firdaus bin Yaacob was a three time scorer - a hat trick! Some fine manoeuvring on the left led to a Grilled goal after 87 minutes, making it 0 - 9. Peter Fjällbratt was noted down as the scorer. After 90 minutes, Grilled's Nor Suhaimi bin Che Lah burst through the central defence and let loose a cannonball of a shot, scoring for 0 - 10. Grilled enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 81 percent of possession.

Most important Juffair player was Valeriu Iatan. Hassan Rahman was a disappointment, however. Grilled's best player was Lee Jie Siong. Lan Tuan-Mu was a disappointment, however. The match ends 0 - 10.
