Sentosa 0 - 9 Grilled

00 punters turned up at Sentosa Dome, and despite threatening clouds on the horizon, no rain came. Hálfdán Guðmundsson was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Nando Gunder and Ruggiero Boehr. Sentosa started off with a 4-4-2 lineup. The following players had been chosen: Minh-Phi - bin Saad, Teck-Onn, Kye-hong, Le-Xuan - Wei, Han-Yuan, Ka-Kit, Ching-Hwa - Xi-qi, Hsuan-Kai.

Grilled had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. The following players had been chosen: Bao-Tam - Siu-Cheung, Tuan-Mu, bin Che Lah - Kolesov, Siu-Yue, Tellskär, Blissenbach, Ju-Hau - Kearney, Stern.

Grilled mostly ignored the flanks in favour of their ability to attack in the middle. Grilled took the lead after 4 minutes with 0 - 1. Joe Stern placed the ball out of reach for the home side's keeper after a fine move, coming in from the left. The visitors' Zhan Ju-Hau took advantage of an error due to a misunderstanding between the home side's goalie and central backs 8 minutes into the match. 0 - 2 for Grilled. Joe Wei really should have scored when he was chosen by fate to confront a wide open goal following a great play by Chang Ching-Hwa after a corner. The away team's Wilson Kearney took advantage of a mistake on the home side's right after 25 minutes which increased Grilled's lead to 0 - 3. 27 minutes into the match Sentosa's Chang Ching-Hwa head butted an opponent nastily, and so the referee sent him off immediately. After 30 minutes Sentosa's Huang Xi-qi limped slightly after a late challenge, but he was able to continue. Some fine manoeuvring on the left led to a Grilled goal after 41 minutes, making it 0 - 4. Wilson Kearney was noted down as the scorer. The structure of the game started to change as Grilled decided to pull back and meet their opponents in their own half. The teams went for the halftime break at 0 - 4. Grilled held the ball, with a clear 85 percent of possession.

Joe Stern increased the visitors' lead by putting a volley shot away on a pass from the right. 0 - 5. The away team's Tim Blissenbach took advantage of a mistake on the home side's right after 69 minutes which increased Grilled's lead to 0 - 6. The visitors' Wilson Kearney took advantage of an error due to a misunderstanding between the home side's goalie and central backs 71 minutes into the match. 0 - 7 for Grilled. By then Wilson Kearney was a three time scorer - a hat trick! The referee showed Grilled's Zhan Ju-Hau the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. Grilled's Joe Stern received a play slashing through the home side's central defense after 78 minutes, and chipped it past the keeper to score the 0 - 8 goal. The home crowd was not pleased with that one. By then Joe Stern was a three time scorer - a hat trick! Grilled increased the lead to 0 - 9 as Joe Stern scored from the penalty spot, putting the ball in near the top left corner. The forty-five minutes were dominated by Grilled, with an impressive 93 percent possession of the ball.

Sentosa's best player was Huang Xi-qi. However, Xi Kye-hong made a disastrous appearance. The most dominating Grilled player was without a doubt Daniel Tellskär. Kau Siu-Cheung on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 0 - 9.
