Edmund Kozar was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Florian Schellendorff and
Santiago Rojas. A 4-5-1 alignment was the formation of choice for Samurais. Starters: Carlsson - Svangren, Blanchett, Thepmanee, Amalfitani - D'Anna, Amaral, Júlíansson, Clooney, Saarelainen - Roarty.

Samurais's
Janne Saarelainen got himself booked for a foul. Grilled's
Lee Jie Siong refused to leave the field after injuring his achilles tendon after 3 minutes. 5 minutes into the game,
Lee Jie Siong almost gave the visitors the lead, as he clipped a delicate lob over the keeper, but the ball glanced harmlessly off the crossbar. Samurais's
Nicolás Amalfitani was shown a yellow card after 15 minutes for slicing down an opponent. Samurais's
Arthit Thepmanee had to watch the rest of the game from the sidelines, after twisting his ankle with 28 minutes having been played.
Ethan Chantrey was the replacement. Samurais's
Clyde Blanchett was shown a yellow card after 34 minutes for slicing down an opponent. The teams went for the halftime break at 0 - 0. The forty-five minutes were dominated by Grilled, with an impressive 59 percent possession of the ball.
Some quick footwork on the left side of the field 53 minutes into the match left Grilled's
Allan Ødegaard completely free to score. 0 - 1 for the visitors.
Mohd Firdaus bin Yaacob earned a rousing chorus of cheers from his fans as he seemed to come out of nowhere after 55 minutes to intercept the ball and put it in the back of the net for Grilled. 0 - 2.
Samuel Carlsson got a fingertip on
Allan Ødegaard's shot from the left 61 minutes in, and managed to keep the visitors from going up another goal. After 70 minutes, Grilled's
Qiu Swee Pheng fell awkwardly, but was determined to stay in the match. A scuffle developed as players from both sides clashed following a tussle in the centre of the field 76 minutes into the match. After regaining order and consulting his linesman, the referee called Samurais's
Noel Svangren to one side and produced a red card for the player. Samurais claimed to be the more dominant force in the game, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 57 percent.
The most dominating Samurais player was without a doubt
Samuel Carlsson.
Val Roarty on the other hand, had a terrible day. Grilled's top performer was clearly
Ahmed Abed-Sulaiman.
Weng Seng-Huat turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 0 - 2.
